Draft Lottery

Regular Season – 84 games, play each team within your league 12 times (7x12=84)

4 of 8 teams make the playoffs. Both rounds are 9 game series.

Either one or two teams get promoted from Bronze and Silver leagues every season. Promotion occurs for the team that finishes first overall during the regular season as well as for the team that wins the league championship. If the first place team wins the championship, then only one team is promoted from that league for that season. The bottom one or two teams (depending on how many are getting promoted from the league below) in Gold and Silver get relegated.

Customized financial system that is driven purely off of a rolling five year point accumulation system that drives media revenue as the sole source of revenue. There are no ticket sales and there is no merchandising revenue. The better you perform over the rolling five years, the more revenue you will receive. As set up, it should provide a decent degree of financial parity while rewarding successful franchises. Please refer to the Constitution for a more detailed explanation of how finances will work.

• Secondary Roster Size - 35 (non-material change as there's no Rule V Draft)

This league provides a very engaging experience and financial resource management is critical to success. The playoff setup keeps the season interesting even if your team is struggling as it should only take a ~.500 record or so to make the playoffs. The season is short enough that a rebuilding team will be able to remain engaged. The draft is also orchestrated to reward teams that are doing everything they can to find that extra piece whether through free agency, on the waiver wire, or in their own minor league system that will get them a few extra wins (no more coasting to an easy rebuild but still friendly enough to allow weaker teams to improve). Finally, the financial setup along with no cash cap insures that all decisions count. Will you focus resources on player development, coaching, international amateurs or the players on the field...how will you deal with the overpriced, aging vet who is hogging your precious cash resources?

We have an opening in Tampa! Currently in the off-season and just transitioned to OOTP 17...great time to join. Email me if interested: PBDLCommish at gmail dot com

Tampa Bay Lightning:
The prior GM was top notch and has this team extremely well positioned for the future. After a one year stint in Gold, the team fell back to Silver, in part due to some under performance by several of its key players, but looks poised to bounce back to Gold very quickly. The team has a strong core of young talent and a very well managed minor league system. A good GM should be able to find success with this team in short order and make a run at an elusive Gold Championship. This franchise, despite spending its first 10 or so seasons of existence in Gold and making several playoff finals appearances, has yet to win a Gold Championship.

This is one of the great online leagues. Don't miss this opportunity.

Openings in Washington and Anaheim. Email me if interested. PBDLCommish at gmail dot com

Anaheim Ducks:
A team that has spent all of its existence bouncing between Silver and Bronze may be on the cusp of a Gold appearance. A strong 2nd place finish in 2037 with a 51-33 record culminated in disappointment after a quick first round exit at the hands of the Boston Bruins. Much of the team's top talent is in its prime and the team is poised to have another competitive 2038 season. But with a weak farm system, will the team be able to garner enough additional talent to make a true run for a Gold Championship. A shrewd GM will need to take a close look at the team and decide which path to take.

Washington Capitals:
Over the last 10 or so seasons, the team has captured a couple of Bronze Championships, one Silver Championship and made a one season appearance in Gold before falling all the way back to Bronze. With a major league roster on the older side, and a very weak farm system, this will very much be a turnaround project for a prospective GM. If you have patience and like a challenge, this team would be a great fit.

Montreal is in dire need of a quality GM. The team is one of the most talented in the entire league and is ready to challenge for division and league crowns. The team is laden with star calibre players, but is a bit short on starting pitching. The GM who takes the reigns should be adept at managing finances as this team has a number of players whose contracts will be due in coming years. It will be difficult to keep this squad together.

Here's a list of some of the star players...

B. Oliver
J. Espanca
M. Latham
C. James
P. Villareal

Those who seek control of a team ready to win right away should look no further than this team. It's an excellent roster and needs ownership. The commish of the league hasn't been advertising this opening as heavily as he should be. Likely due to time constraints.

Opening in Anaheim. Email me if you are interested. We are about to start the amateur draft and Anaheim has the #3 pick.
