This folder will provide a first FAQ to help you with installation problems.

The game cannot be started, computer freezes up or crashes

Please check first that you have DirectX installed. DirectX9 is recommended. You'll get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/

If your game runs with DirectX8.1, it's OK, but if not, install the latest version please.

The second possible solution is to start the game without using the Direct3D hardware mode. You can do this by using the icon named "Start TB without 3D hardware". The first setup version released on Monday didn't install the icons. But we've uploaded a new setup file which installs the icons correctly.
It's no big problem to generate the icon by yourself if you're an experienced computer user. This will save you the download time. Here is what to do:

First create a link to the tb1.exe file. Find the tb1.exe in the TB program folder, which is usually C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing\

Right click on the file, choose "Copy", minimize all windows, right click on the desktop, and choose "Create Link".
Then right click on the link, choose "Properties", and bring the cursor into the text box whcih contains the command line (Target). Go to the end of the line and add the code nod3d.

Then it should like like this:

"C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing\TB1.exe" nod3d

Close and save it, and start TB with a double click on the link.

The game will have no transparency effects, and the graphics will probably be slow. If this helped you to start the game, and you want to be able to start it in full hardware-supported D3D mode, you will need another graphic adapter, or probably just an updated driver for your adapter.

Game just won't start after Installation

If nothing happens when you start the programm after the installation, it's surely NO graphic error like missing DirectX or something. There should at least come an error message or the purchase screen. If not, this might help you:

First check whether you're having an internet connection. Open your browser, and open any website. Works? Great. Now close all programs which might use the internet: streaming audio/video, email client, browser, online games and so on.
Does TB start now? Yes? Fine, that's it. If not, probably the eLicense control is disabled on your PC.

Do the following to enable it again:

- Open the Windows Start menu, and click on Run
- Type msconfig and press the Enter key
- Once that pops up, click on the Services tab
- Scroll down and find the Service tab licctrl
- Make sure there is a check mark by that box!
- Click apply, and restart your computer

Game crashes during runtime

If the game crashes during playing, the reason might be the RAM.
It's possible to schedule 999 bouts. Each bout is an object using a little bit of that RAM. Each bout contains other objects: fighters, cornermen and so on... So when you're running the game on a computer with 128 MB RAM, you should be careful with high numbers of bouts.

Generally, when a program crashes, restart the PC, and don't start any other program. Then test the game again. Probably it's not compatible with a specific other program which you're using.

When the schedler or tournament or whatever is closed again, all the used RAM will be set free again. So you can start the scheduler and close it again a hundred times, it won't flood your RAM. But if you schedule 1000 bouts, and are running other big programs at the same time, it might be too much for your computer. As mentioned above: Close all other programs. Don't schedule a high number of bouts. Or purchase RAM :)

Games always started fine, but now it crashes during starting

Probably your TB database is damaged! This can happen when the computer crashes or is switched off for any reason during playing. You need to use a new database. There are two ways to do this:

- Re-Install the game. This is the easiest way, but you will loose all your TB data which you probably created meanwhile, and if the reason for the crash wasn't the database, you lost it for nothing.

- Create a new database:
Locate the file config.ini in your Title Bout program folder.

Double click on it to open it and locate the line which starts with Database=

Change the name behind the = to any new name like this:
Database=NEWDB1

Save and close the file, and restart the game. The new database will be created based on the "Default" database, which is never used itself by the program.

eLicense FAQ and Troubleshooting

eLicense makes it possible to purchase a game and to pay using the credit card, or using money order, licensing the game online or manually through telephone or email and much more. It is in use on many, many computers with OOTP and TBCB and a lot of other products. Though it's easy to use, you might have some questions, for example regarding the un-licensing procedure which you have to go before you give your computer away or before you re-install your Windows.

A lot of information is available at Viatech's eLicense support page at http://www.elicense.com/usersupport/el_faq.htm

In case of problems with the eLicense, please contact Viatech using their support form at http://www.elicense.com/usersupport/supportreq.htm

Their eLicense Sales/Support hotline phone number is 508-647-0465 during business time.

How to switch off the sound

If you're still having problems to run the game, it's a good idea to switch off the sound just to make sure whether this is the reason or not. If you can start the game, just toggle the three settings regarding the sound in the Game Options screen.

If you cannot start the game, open the config.ini file, which is located in the TB program folder. Find the three lines with the sound settings and edit them to get this:

PlayMusic=0
PlayCrowdNoises=0
PlayAnySounds=0

Save and close the file, then start the game.
