Duplicated contract extensions bug

Hi gents, hope you are doing well.

We are having a slightly weird bug in the iNHL where some contract extensions from our previous season have been duplicated. I think it has to do with FHM adding the extension multiple times upon the player signing. Please see screenshots below. Is this a known bug, and is there a way to avoid it?

Happy to send across a link to our savefile if you want to have a look!

Cheers,
Björn

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see the save, I haven't seen this before. Is there anything in particular the players who get the duplication have in common? Some teams and not others, timing of the signings, etc?

Hi Jeff, I sent you a PM with more details and the link to the league file!

Experiencing the same thing in another online league, multiple players showing renewals despite their current contract being over the next few seasons. Generally a duplicate length and pay to the original.

Got the file, thanks, we'll have a look at it and try a few things to see if we can reproduice whatever's going on.

Some news on this: Don't know the cause yet, but the good news is that it's only a cosmetic issue, it won't actually affect the operation of those contracts. If you're still on July 1, we can fix the cosmetic problem in the save if you want.

Björn, a couple of questions about your save specifically:

-Tyson Jost about 45 "renew offers" (everyone else has 3,4 or 6). Does the Colorado GM recall anything odd happening when he made his offer to Jost?

-It looks like only contract extensions from 2019/20 are affected - did this happen in 2018-19, too, or only in the second season?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks a bunch for looking into this!

If possible we would like this fixed because the players on 1-year extensions from last season that are bugged cannot be offered extensions during the current season (Joel Kellman is one example). If we could clear out all extensions that show as signed so far in 2020/21 that would be great.

We have simmed ahead from the file you received, I will PM you our current file later today after we have run today's sim.

re: Jost, I believe what happened there is that I added the contract extension from my end at the very end of a sim, and it was signed during the first day of the following sim. That would be the only thing I can recall about that extension specifically.

We did have the issue with multiple extensions showing up in the transaction log and player history during 2018/19 as well (see for example Ivan Provorov), but the contracts never appeared as duplicates during the 2019/20 season.

Thanks again for your support!

Jeff, I have sent a link to the current league file in a PM. Thanks!

Got it, and we've found the problem. It looks like we're going to have to do a very small update early next week to fix it. We're going to try to include an auto-fix for existing saves in it, but in case that's not possible, we'll have to edit your file manually after the update - so if you want to continue until then, go ahead and send me the file as soon as you have the update installed (assuming there's no auto-fix.)

OK, thanks Jeff! We’ll keep simming and I’ll send you our post-update file if it doesn’t get fixed with the update.

New update's out; I tested it with the iNHL save and it auto-fixed he duplicated stuff completely (including all of the Jost ones), so you should be good to go as soon as you update it and load the file.
