Devs: Unlock the Mission-Locked Players/Cards (With Penalty)

The more missions we complete, the more locked players we have clogging our benches. (I keep trying to find excuses for playing Harper or Chapman but it never goes well, even as backups.) It's especially tough when you get stuck with a lower-level version of the player you wound up winning as the mission reward (Delgado, Suzuki, etc.).

Devs, might you consider some way for us to unlock these players through some sort of penalty -- let's say, you get 20% of their (new) auction price (the winning bidder pays full auction price but the seller only gets the 20%)? This could pump some PPs into the auction system and free up some much sought-after players. It would also help balance out the fact that to complete some of these missions we're paying hugely jacked up prices for Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold players that have no play value (especially at their costs).

Anybody else with me, or have a better idea?

Against. Removing cards from circulation has actually led to cards selling for anything other than 111% of the quicksell price. Flushing them back into circulation would crash the auction house.

Don't see this working at all. When you do a mission and lock cards, you have to weigh the pros and cons and make a decision. No regrets.

Your other points have merit but probably require different solutions. Clogging up the bench can be fixed by sending them to the reserves, and the devs adding a "locked card" filter.

Supply of some of the missions cards is definitely an issue, and makes collecting quite frustrating at times. A solution would be more packs opened, but opening packs yourself will likely not get who you're hoping for.. so what do you do? Just has to be more packs opened up collectively as a market.. hopefully tournaments might enable this.

Absolutely not. Fundamentally changing the way a main feature of the game functions in the middle of it is terrible.

It's on you to think about whether you really want to submit for a mission. It's not intended for everyone to do all of them.

You say you have Harper who is a part of the live Phillies mission which costs like 10K to get a card worth 20K. What did you do with the Dykstra? Just deactivate the spare parts required and forget they are even there.

Supply is also effected by how clunky the auction house is, it takes far too long to check prices and list cards , and there is no relist feature. Would also be nice if you had a tradelist to place cards that you want to sell so that they don't get mixed up with all of the other stuff in your inactive pile. I, undoubtedly like many others , can't be bothered going through all of this to sell a bronze for 5pp above its discard price after tax

Yes. The ultimate team UI is very good for that. With one click I can relist everything that didn't sell using the same parameters.

If locked cards are not going to be used for playing, they become clutter. Let's be allowed to clean house by selling them back to the house for ZERO points!

Think you'd end up with a lot of regrets from sellers, especially if these cards then become required for a future mission. Better solution is to have a hide locked cards option in the interface.

Against that original thread idea. But re-arrange the submission might be fair:

After collecting 100% of the mission cards then you can unlock certain ones as long as you keep the original number locked. So if a mission has 15 cards (for example) but only needed 10 for the reward, once you have all 15 after the fact, you can go back and select which ones are the final 10 (only once) and leave other 5 open for being unlocked and sold.

Just a variation on the original idea put forth above. And yes, for next year. Changing midseason would be a waste of time. Would like to see devs churn out more missions and tournaments this year.

The supply of mission cards is a huge problem. You shouldn't have to wait weeks for cards to show up to complete a mission.
