Facial hair: Taking requests
I'm toying with the idea of adding a few more facial hairs to the pile (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-hair-mod.html and http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ster-pack.html). Any specific requests? More stubble versions of stuff? Slight modifications of existing ones? Something brand new you've seen out there that I don't have? If you could post a pic in this thread with what you'd like to see, that would be goatee...I mean, great.
BTW, pretty much everything has to be "close cropped". By that I mean that the way OOTP does beards, they're essentially drawn on the guy's face with a magic marker. They can't really extend off the face. You could do some optical illusions if you forced a straight-on veiwing angle all the time but I don't want to confuse things too much. |
Is the facial hair in the below post already included in your pack? I haven't looked at your pack to know yet.

I also played around with Hitler moustaches and combos, like the Hitler + soulpatch, and the handlebar + Billy Koch. Maybe you could expand on the idea. I'd kill for some Rutherford B. Hayes impersonators on the ballfield. And there's a story about Cap Anson sometimes wearing a fake beard while playing, as a joke. Can you make an obviously fake beard with strings going behind the ears? I'm serious... |
I didn't read original post but i'll post it anyways: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walrus_moustache
Just look at the articles on the people like Teddy Roosevelt for an Idea. Especially Lech Walesa :D |
To save some time for those that haven't read the original post - these are the modded facial hair options already made available by Bobble.

I would love to see more stubble hair and five-o-clock shadow styles.

I think I'll stay away from any Hitler-esque beards. I'm not sure of the usefulness... I don't know if you could do a beard with strings. I don't know if the beard graphic reaches up high enough to get to the ears. Quote:

Don't know if its possible, but maybe how about some scruffier looking ones? At the moment everybody's beard is impeccably trimmed! :D

I was thinking a thicker version of the Earp, but could you make another version more like Teddy's? you know without the how i say "protrusions" at the corners of the lip.

I'd like to see some longer beards, perhaps a two-pointed beard, maybe a ZZTop length one.
Don't know if this is possible or not, but I also wouldn't mind seeing some accessories in the facial hair, like the way people wrap string around a 4 inch length of beard hair just below the chin and stick a bead at the end. Some of these might be more expected in foreign leagues, but would be fun on rare occasions. |

That's sad, because it means no Chad Gaudin.
BTW, there is a great vintage baseball card collection here: Baseball Cards 1887-1914 (On a side note, I wonder if anyone has considered turning these into a "photopack" for historical league play) Here are a couple other photos of 1800s baseball to show styles and give the poster above an idea of beard/moustache frequency at the time: Attachment 157670 Attachment 157671 Attachment 157672 |
A couple of different sideburn styles - down to the bottom of the ear, down to the jaw line, maybe - would be nice, maybe combined with some of the mustaches.

There already are some in the first face pack http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d-hair-map.jpg They combine with any of the moustache/beards. Is that not what you're talking about? |

Another idea would be shadow on the chin only and another full shadow and another chin curtain shadow. Just a little more variety in the stuble/shadow look. |
Are blonde and red hair possible.
