Need a couple variations for 16 team leagues...

I checked the sticky post above and this one looks good...

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post2528006

I was wondering if I could get a few more schedules with the same initial set up. (2 subleagues, 1 division, 8 teams).

The one above, but with interleague play. Is there a way to get the schedule to pick 3 random teams (each year) for a 5 game series, without repeating an interleague opponent with in the same season?

ex:
21 games vs. 7 league teams for 147 games
5 games vs. 3 random teams in other league for 15 games
total 162

or
22 games vs. 7 league teams for 154 games
4 games vs. 2 random teams in other league for 8 games
total 162

If these would be possible, that's what I would be looking for. I also would like to see shorter versions of the above, something just over 100 games.

Starting point can be flexible. Interleague play would be fun if it occurred at somewhat regular intervals (like every 5th series or whatever it works out to be).

All-Star game to be before last series of the year. Last series of the year NOT an interleague series.

Hope that's all complicated enough for ya!

Post any questions you may have.

# 16 team schedule, 162 games
# Designed for the following configuration:
# 2 subleagues each with 1 division, each with 8 teams
#
#
# 22 games against 7 other teams in division (10-12H/10-12A)
# 4 games against 2 teams in other subleague (4H or 4A)
#
# Schedule considered balanced since
# each subleague opponent played same number of times
#
# No team plays more than 20 straight days without an offday
#
# No homestands or roadtrips longer than 14 games
#
# All game times set at 7:05pm
#
# Season begins first Friday after first Monday on or after April 1
# Season ends late September/early October
#
# All-Star Game set for first Tuesday on or after July 9

How about 102 games with 13 games against the 7 subleague opponents (actually 12 games against one of them), and 3 games against 4 of the teams from the other subleague? Start date could be early April through late July or shifted to something else like early May through late August.

I would rather play opponents an equal number of times than worry about being that close to 100 games.

Though the latest one I was thinking about would play each team in the other league 2 games.

so:
14*7 = 98
4*8 = 32
total = 130 games

stipulations would be:
the interleague games to be played as a "home and home". Meaning the series should go H, H, off day, A, A. Rather than having a 2 game series in May, then a 2 game series in August.

interleague series to be spread about the schedule evenly, except in the last month or so (so the playoff races are against teams you are fighting directly against).

All Star game to be late in the season, with about 3 or 4 series to follow.

This didn't schedule an ASG.

Edit: It did but it's in June sandwiched between 2 series.

As always, if the ASG is on the wrong day in a gmo-created schedule, try adding it as an entry to the schedule itself.
