I just quicksold a card

I just quicksold a card I intended to auction. Sure it's my own fault, but if there is data in the starting bid (other than the default amount) and/or an amount in the buy now box, shouldn't the quicksell box be disabled? The quicksell is just too prominently placed.

I agree.

Not long ago I did the same on an auction I won with one of my free to play teams. I paid something like 2-4k under the last 7 days price and was relisting it to try and generate some PP right around the last 7 day price and instead quicksold at a 3k loss.

I like it there as in the past if you decided you didn't want to bother auctioning after you saw the prices you'd have to go out and then use the quick sell feature. This saves step at the cost of really screwing you over if you hit the Quick-sell NOW button...

It does need a confirmation prompt 100% though as I have almost done the same thing with a 50K+ card... I'd have been very upset. Had my finger down on the mouse and clicked on the long white "you gonna mess up" button but dragged my mouse pointer off and released and it did not take. Was so thankful...

BigRed75 08-21-2019 09:41 AM

Yeah I don't see why there's not a confirmation button on the quick sell feature. The price is fixed, there's absolutely no time consideration that the extra 1-2 seconds and extra mouse click would disadvantage you for. I know it's called quick sell, but that's ridiculous.

Thankfully, it hasn't happened to me. I have accidentally put a card up for auction at the minimum starting price (I don't remember now who it was, but it was someone who decidedly should NOT have been auctioned at the minimum) and thankfully was able to go in and cancel the auction. Having that confirmation step on the quick sell would serve the same purpose.

I have done the same thing and took a massive loss. I like where it is at because it is handy, However, I would love to see a confirmation button too.

Dude - I feel your pain. I had a pretty big quicksell fail earlier this year...lessons learned I guess. Accidentally sold a perfect and 8 diamonds. I was pissed for days.

Make the button bright red? :p

Charlatan 08-21-2019 10:36 AM

Color's not good because it's society-dependent. The only "true" UI solution would be to have a confirmation on this, since it's an action that you can't easily reverse.

clearly you've never tried to go thru a list of hundreds of cards before

Yes, we can add some extra confirmations to the auction dialog page. I know when I was playing with some big value players it was always worrysome that you'd hit the button. But if I'm just checking whether a bronze card has any value, I don't want extra popups :)

If you don't want popups, then just remove the button. It is not needed there.

You can't auto quicksell Gold and Diamond cards on the reserve roster as a popup confirmation comes up; however the iron and bronze quicksell do not require a confirmation.

I think doing the same thing with the new auto quicksell button on the auction screen would be a good change.

I accidentally sold two diamond players this way (loss of about 40 K at their market value over quicksell)...or at least I think I did, it happened early in the morning before i had coffee and I think i hit the wrong button.

Westheim 08-21-2019 12:20 PM

As we're on selling stuff and popups - can we do away with the confirmation popup "You successfully sold Player X for 25 PP" entirely? It is about as useful as a third leg, slowing things down dramatically when you want to get rid of some stuff or other.

Dogberry99 08-21-2019 12:22 PM

I don't mind the one extra click of a pop up confirmation in this specific instance, considering I already took the time to deliberately go to that card's auction page. If I was truly concerned about my time, I would have tried to quicksell them without bothering to research their historic averages.

dbqs 08-21-2019 02:41 PM

Yes plz to the extra confirmation. I sadly quicksold a diamond card the other day.

Janks 08-21-2019 03:18 PM

How about a user option to have the confirmation screen for the quick sell? Default it to on and let users shut if off.

bailey 08-21-2019 04:41 PM

How about moving the quicksell to the bottom of the box and make it half the size of the current submit button and move the submit and cancel buttons to the center where the massive quicksell button is. An option for the user to be able to disable this feature would be icing on the cake. It is clearly costing people loads of points and needs to be adjusted in the next patch..

Westheim 08-21-2019 05:22 PM

No. Don't switch positions of buttons. That is where the real havoc begins.

They're already switching the positions of packs on the purchase screen in 19 every handful of weeks and it drives me crazy.

Easy..... add a "price check" button somewhere so we can find out what a card would sell for without pretending we want to sell it. Put it in the manage roster screen. Then you don't need the quicksell button on the auction popup at all.

Problem solved!
