In the Year 2525
Zager and Evans

In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
Guess it's time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is…

HELL YEAH THE NATS FINALLY DID IT!!!!!

Fun fact: not only did every playoff series come down to the last game, the Red Sox blew a 3-0 lead (and lost Game 4 in 12 innings).

This was the Nats' first win in their franchise history (178-year drought).

(and no I didn't rig it in any way...trust me if I had the Nats would have won a lot sooner)

And I can finally type the words I've been waiting to type for 7 months and 129 seasons...EVERY SINGLE TEAM HAS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!

The full recap will come at some point within the next week or so...and I'll probably think of something else stupid to do for OOTP 20.

Till then, that's how long your favorite team is from a championship! (Looks like my dad and I are in for a wait lol)

Happy baseball!

The Game 03-01-2019 09:20 PM

At this point i was rooting against them, at least until 20 comes out. but Congrats. Gonna see if they repeat?

Sizeman21 03-02-2019 02:26 PM

One of the coolest experiments on the forums to date. Any ideas for a similar project for OOTPXX?

Alright, first of all, here is every team in the order that they won, with the years that they won the championship in parentheses.

1. Chicago Cubs (2018, 2039, 2101)
2. Los Angeles Dodgers (2019, 2020, 2025, 2028, 2050, 2052, 2058)
3. Tampa Bay Rays (2021, 2106, 2109, 2113)
4. Houston Astros (2022, 2048, 2063, 2072, 2073, 2078, 2102, 2105, 2131)

29. New York Mets (2099, 2127)
30. Washington Nationals (2146)

So the Astros, Blue Jays, and Phillies had the most championships (8), while the Athletics, Yankees, and Nats only got 1.

Some notable players:
Rafael Devers- broke the all-time home run record (791)
Sergio Miranda, Chris Petrie- 700 home runs

Tim Grotz, Andy Hood- 500 saves

Giancarlo Stanton hit 70 home runs in 2018, the most in a single season during the simulation.

No player was ever elected to the Hall of Fame unanimously. Ismael Marroquin got the highest percentage (99.1%).

Juan Rivera won the most MVP awards (7), and he was still active, so he probably would have won more. Josh Kindel and Nate Schultz each won 6.

Ben Jones and Dylan Quezada tied for the most Cy Young awards (9). Dan Folkema won 8, and Chris Ogrodnik won 7.

There were five Triple Crowns during the simulation- Pat Keller (2065), Charlie Hudson (2080), Chad LaDuke (2118), and Juan Rivera in both 2141 and 2142.

The longest hit streak was done by Juan Trevino (39 games) in 2058.

Luis Estrada had the most wins by a manager (2376). Alex Cora had the most playoff appearances (17), and Pete Weleski had the most championships (4).

The Yankees still have the best win percentage of all time (.529) and the most championships (28), but the Dodgers have the most wins (21987) and playoff appearances (88). The Twins have the most losses (21665), and the Marlins have the worst win percentage (465) and the fewest playoff appearances (27).

Pretty amazing that the Cardinals were the third-to-last team to win the World Series, but still have time to win SEVEN of them before the Nationals finally did it.

Thanks for this, Brennan, it's been fun to follow along. My initial guess of 120 years ended up being pretty close!

At last! Great sim, thanks for sharing!

Nothing would please me more than the Yankees only winning one title in the next 200 hundred years
