After long talks and many cities wanting a crack at an NHL team, Idaho won the new expansion after bidding out rumored cities such as Seattle, Kansas City, and many more.

Despite not being a likely area you'd expect to win over the spot, the NHL feels that giving an opportunity out to an underdog city would benefit the league in making more opportunities for other country's or cities.
