Game Won't Start Crashes
 

Ok...

So I'm doing a historical sim starting back in 1917-18 NHL Season. When I go to load I get to the last part and it crashes after 62% loaded.

APP Error.

Now...I can make it work fine until I set the game to generate FACE GEN's for the players.

It works if I leave the players as default or silhouette but if I want to create fictional players, in uniforms and with caps, by selecting those options it will crash.

????

Did I explain this right??

Modern season works without a hitch.

Logos are fine...just the players...

What happens if you turn facegen off on the start screen menu, create the new game, then go back to the start menu and turn it on, then exit, restart, and load the game? It's a little odd that a setup crash would happen because of facegen, because the facegen pictures are only created on demand when you look at the player.

I did follow all the steps you described with no luck. However, I found one of the members files, which included everything you need to start up from 1917-18 (graphics, rosters, etc) and copied the player.dat file over to the created league.

Everything is working fine. Can't explain why I could not set things up the normal way but at least it's working now.

Definitely strange. Please let me know if you get any other odd behaviour with that game, particularly facegen-related things.

So far so good...in fact back to normal. Was strange....maybe I somehow deleted the file??
