Connor McDavid, Hart, Lindsey Trophy Winner EVERY YEAR

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Every year Connor McDavid wins the Hart and Lindsey MVP trophies no matter what he does.

I just finished up the 3rd year, 2020-2021. In 2018-2019 Connor McDavid was indeed good enough to be the winner of both trophies. But check this out since:

2019-2020
McDavid 82 GP, 36G-59A-95P,+15 (no playoffs)
Ovechkin 82 GP, 71G-63A-134P, +42 (playoffs)

It's even worse in 2020-2021

McDavid 80 GP, 34G-45A-79P, -2 (no playoffs) (23rd in scoring)
McKinnon 82GP 65G-82A-147P, +77 (playoffs)

Why do I have a feeling McDavid will win these trophies every year. Alright, who at OOTP has the McDavid fetish. Ha! Ha!. Please fix this!

I may have seen something similiar to this in my fictional league in FHM4 (I don't own 5). Two years in a row a player has won MVP. Although he is a very good player and had 2 very good years, there were other players that had superior seasons. The first year he had 77 points (12th in the league) and was only a plus 1. His team missed the playoffs. In year 2 he had 76 points (which didn't even lead his team - he was 20th in the league) but his +/- improved to +21. His team qualified for the playoffs in year 2. He did not lead the league in any major category in either year. I just figured he had some kind of "intangible" that wasn't measured by stats.

I'm sorry but this is totally accurate.

The game seems to pick the MVP with a high amount of weighting towards average ratings - whether or not the winners team makes the playoffs or not is irrelevant. Which is why some years you will see a Dman get nominated for a hart but not win the Norris which is picked on points plus plus minus. Basically McDavid every year puts up insane average ratings until he gets to his early 30s so he wins the Hart every year he is healthy.

I believe the MVP trophies have something to do with the Game Ratings. I could be wrong about that but that's likely part of why he would keep being nominated. Other issue with the Lindsay Award is that it always follows the same criteria as the Hart in 5, so it's always the same player winning both in my experience. I assume that will be different in 6 though.

I know in the first sim for EA NHL 20, he wins both.
