Damn.. Have a dinner date when it is streaming LIVE tonight.. I have not been out with this woman before... Do you think she would understand if I cancelled if I told her the reason..LOL.. Could be a good indicator to see if she is possibly "The One"...hahaha

Reschedule.

The date. I rue the day I missed watching my first MLB all star game due to a dating conflict.

Ormondbeachdan 03-04-2019 11:18 AM

It's good news!!.. She had to reschedule for a legit reason and was very apologetic.. I was of course soooo understanding and told her don't give it a second thought..hehehehehe. WIN WIN!!!;)

Maybe we were waiting for YouTube to process the archive to share the link?

In fact, the new PT information was posted here on the forums before it was shared anywhere else

The archive is coming in the next post

One thing I noticed was that the 20 live cards are not identical to the 19 live cards, despite no game being played since the 19 live cards were released. I assume there was a change to the ratings calculations.

I looked up the first card drawn - Drew Robinson. He's a 54 in 19 and 57 in 20.

Then later Nick Ahmed was drawn. 60 in 19 and 75 in 20.

Cody Allen went from 66 to 80.

I doubt all the ratings are final. Wasn't there a 2016 Scherzer that was a 68? Doesn't seem right.

The biggest change is that the 20 live cards will start based on their pre-season ratings projections, whereas the 19 live cards were based mostly on the 2019 season results. So Cody Allen's projections are obviously much better than his 2018 season results were.

Also of course, the projections and ratings for players will evolve, so don't assume that Allen will stay an 80 when PT opens for beta or for real.

But yes, overall, I would expect every card to shift in ratings, to varying degrees. Just because a guy's card sucks right now doesn't mean he won't suck when things get going (not even counting how much things change when live cards get updates).

Ah thanks for the clarification! Are you using ZiPS or Steamer or something else for projections?

I think it was mentioned in the newsletter, but it's based on Zips (and then there is some adjusting by the team to make sure the rosters come out correct and balanced).

Who needs diamond starters when everybody can pull bronze Max Scherzers and R.A. Dickeys?

zrog2000 03-05-2019 05:18 PM

If they're using ZiPS, I'm going to guess that Mookie is no longer a perfect.

Suppose a player OVR 45 and not a regular gets an unexpected opportunity to play and in his first week goes 13 for 24 with 4 HR. What effect would this have on his OVR for the following week of PT?

His ratings in the appropriate categories would go up and his overall would be recalculated (likely higher).

Looks awesome, cant wait to get my hands on 2.0.

Is it just me or does anyone else think 2011 JV deserves a little more than an 89?
