Introducing the Blue Line Hockey League: 1994 Start
 

The Blue Line Hockey League is an original Franchise Hockey Manager online league and will begin play in the summer of 2015.

The league will start as a historical league beginning play with the 1993 season. I don’t know about you but my love of hockey started to grow with the release of NHL ’94 by EA Sports (You can Find Basic Rosters Here). Those are not final of course, just the guys who were actually in the video game. Notable rookies like Peter Forsberg and Paul Kariya, I'm sure will be included. The league will follow a different relocation/expansion path than the current NHL. For example the Canadian Dollar won’t tank, so no teams will leave Canada. The Quebec Nordiques and the original Winnipeg Jets wont be leaving town anytime soon. We will be importing real rookies until the current year. We will become a fictional league at that point. Who Am I.......

I ran a very successful OOTP league for several real time years before life got in the way. I've been a sim game player since about 2001. Football and hockey are my favorite sports and I've coached both of them. I will be asking for league officers to handle some duties when my schedule gets hectic. I currently coach high school football and all three of my children are involved in sports.

As we move closer to release I will likely be changing the website depending on my hosting options, but I wanted to get this idea out there and start working on the details with a group of owners interested in this format.

Therefore we are looking for...............

1. Serious inquiries only. If you are willing to put in the time then you can get a tremendous amount of joy from this league

2. Someone who enjoys the social aspect of online leagues. I plan on implementing a league chat option that went over very well in my OOTP league. If this appeals to you, then this is the league for you.

3. Someone who is willing to put in the time to BUILD a franchise. We'd like some of the inaugural owners to stick around for a while and build something

4. If you are interested in joining our league either now or with a future opening, please send me an e-mail ledgersko@gmail.com and tell me why you want to be in the league, why it appeals to you and why you think you will be a good owner. Of course those with a well reasoned response will get first consideration.

It says historical here but the rules page says "The league is a modern league, which will begin play with the 2014 season"...
