Transfer of historical seasons to new computer?

Bought a new computer and have OOTP 18 on steam. Game itself transferred over fine, but not the historical replay I had going for KCR.

Do I only need to copy/paste the backup of the historical seasons (1969-1978) from folder on old computer to the Backups folder on the new computer? Or would that not be an effective way to do it?

I very much want to continue this Historical Simulation, any help/guidance is very much appreciated.

Yesterday I tried copying the seasons from the "backups" folder on old computer to the "backups" folder on the new, but that has not worked.

Not sure if I'm missing a step or if I'm trying to do something that is not possible. Can anyone help me with this?

not certain about the back-up folder. but if you were to copy your .lg folder of the league you want to move to a flash drive, you SHOULD be able to transfer (paste) it to the new computers .lg folder for your game. never done it that way ... but should work.

what i do i make have my backup files on an external ( i save a full 2 years of game play on that external), then go to the game restore and have my external to my new computer and basically restore the game from those files, sort of a transfer but not exactly.

here's a link that explains how to make a back up and how to restore --- not meaning you don't know how, but just in case it helps ....

best of luck. let us know how it goes and if anyone else can offer ideas, please chime in, as this isn't anything i've done before but once - so i may not be the best source.

Thank you! This is very helpful and is information I was looking for. I really don't know too much about computers and just kind of hack my way along and try to get by thru trial and error. So the link will be helpful. I'll let you know how it goes.

THANK YOU! What I did was copy and paste the .lg file to the backups folder. It then could be seen under "Available backup sets" and I was able to load it from there.

I'm super happy to now be able to resume from where I'd left off. Had replayed 1969 thru 1978 seasons as KCR. Won pennant in 74,75,76, and 77 (3rd in 1978). Hoping to get back on top again in 79 and reach World Series for first time. :)

Thanks again for taking time to help. As someone who also plays the game, I'm sure you can understand my feelings of relief and joy at being able to resume from where I left off.
