Hit Streak Stopped Just Shy

Roberto Alomar had a hit streak of 52 games snapped. Could you imagine?

I can almost see the press having a field day with that one!

Nice run - it would be awesome to see Robbie do it.

As for the press, they'd have a field day with anyone who approached/broke the record.

Heck, the press has a field day with anyone these days. Some days I honestly believe they just pull a name out of a hat and decide to start scrutinizing whoever it happens to be.

Has anyone been able to eclipse DiMaggio's mark that you know of?

Several years back, after running an historical league overnight to get up to 1950, I was happily wandering through the stats and records when I came across the consecutive game hitting streak leader and discovered Frankie Frisch had rung up 72 in a row. Thats the
most I have encountered after many hundreds of historical, fictional, and fictorial universes.

I had Ty Cobb have a 61 game hit streak in my last sim, only time I've seen it done...I was elated

Had Paul Waner get to 48 games in another

Historical players have the best chance, as fictional leagues and current leagues will have guys with too little contact, and a too high K and BB rate to get it done.

Having Alomar get up that high makes it even more amazing since he is the most "current" player. I'll have to keep an eye on this when I do other sims.
