3D vs 2-D game play

Went back to 2-D. Seems that the game play is different. Even the play by play seems different. Am I just imagining this or is there something to this?

Hmm. I haven't really noticed a big difference in the 2D, sdw1000. What are you noticing that seems to have been adjusted? Just curious if you feel it's a positive or not so positive adjustment?

Well..I am using the text to voice too so maybe hearing it changes my perception. But when I was doing 3-D, it seemed that the games were blow out 10-3 type scores. Now I am getting pitching duels and close exciting games. I guess it takes me back to my Strat days when I didn't have a visual to rely on and I could visualize it in my head. Not sure really, but it seems more fun.

Are you suggesting there is a different engine for 3d and 2d?

The game has one engine. It runs through some math and gets a result. In pre-3d OOTP it then picked text to present the result. In OOTP today with 3d it does the same except it also picks 3d movements along with the text. It really is as simple as that. There is no difference.

I agree. I think that is what happens in 3D. They match the ani with the text and text with the ani. Some ani's still need tweeking. And I think some just need the text to be revised. But over all what we have right now is the best of 3D so far. Hope for continued improvement. I wonder how many actual ani's (plays) there are? I can't believe somebody said to me that we don't need anymore ani's. The more the merrier.
