Spritze DB for OOTP19

Done except for the export to the Internet.

Players still start at 18 (or earlier if they did IRL)

I was thinking of removing the players who are in the OOTP databases already but they don't start at 18 so I did not.

Ethnicities and arm slots have been added as have the other new OOTP items added by OOTP Developments to the OOTP file structures. There are some values that just have placeholders for now as it will take all summer to procure the data.

Real stats and neutralized stats are the same MLE's as before. So really real stats do not exist. A couple of versions ago I removed them because users of the database could not remember to only use the newts. So either one you pick produces the same results.

I'll wait a week or so to upload this in case anyone has any requests or concerns. It will be an ODB file as CSV's do not work with OOTP anymore. I have been waiting on the new historical lead to be named before I released this to make sure he would be OK with it as I would not want to do any toes stepping on but that may not happen for a while so I just decided to go for it.

any chance of an amended .csv, with just the players names, race, arm slot, debut year/ final year and player IDs - you know, without anything proprietary? i find that the .csv files are extremely helpful, if for nothing else to get the player IDs to make large .txt files to import. the rest of the stuff i can edit, when/as needed.

thanks for all the great DBs in the past. i've used them more than the ones that come in the game it seems. be well.

Hi spritze.
I was just testing your 18 db with the new version, and the odd feature of not getting drafts occurred.
The new players in 1872 show up, but as free agents, not draft.
Draft is selected all is as it should be in the setup screens. You may want to double check the draft is working fine with the new one.

Ps I also tested neutralized, and 19 called up the stats odd. 1 column seemed moved over. So runs became at bats, at bats were games played. Every player imported as a .567 like hitter. Just a heads up, you might want to check that too.

Love your db and work. If I can test anything for you, shoot me over a pm
Cheers

Using both the old db files (OOtp17) and the new ones, both create a draft in 1872 of 36 players and 1871 starts out with 183 players rather than the default 139. That is how it is supposed to work so whatever was weird in the OOTP18 ODB compiler seems to have adjusted itself.

I'll check the newts later today.

Newts look fine as well.
You did not specify how you were viewing the newts.
This screenshot is from the newt inaugural draft.

Sorry Spritze. Here is a screenshot. This is 1871, spritze db 18, neutralized stats. out of the box setup. Here are how the historical stats import for everyone, just 2 examples

Aye. I have retired.

I will be around to help answer questions if the new person has any questions which they may not but I have humped my last tulip.

Golden years are burgeoning and beckoning.

Best wishes for those golden years. Hopefully you won't stop playing and you will be around to talk about that.

Well as long as the new 19 works is all that really matters. I can wait, patiently, but wait.
Thanks for all your work to keep doing these

may your retirement be filled with peace and contentment. All you've done, and all the help extended, remains a standard and is appreciated. if you're ever this way, a dr. pepper awaits.

What mitchkenn said enjoy your retirement, hopefully you will have second thoughts regarding OOTP.

Spritze 05-02-2018 02:45 PM

I retired from working 5 years ago except for a very few consults with old clients.

I will be available for consults with OOTP if anything comes up.

Hopefully the new guy will be overflowing with new ideas and can push historicals to new heights.

I personally look forward to this update more than I do the actual release of the game, so I'm sad to hear you'll be taking a step back.

One thing you said has left me confused though...

I'm not sure what this means...The way I am reading it all of these players will continue to debut in the years in the vanilla game, while players you've added will be imported into the draft at the age of 18.

Is my interpretation correct? If not, what did you really mean?

I love starting everyone at that early age in some fictional minor leagues, so that's why I'm curious.

Thanks man

Update:

Slight pause before I release this.

While I was creating the player list for those that import I decided it was too confusing to have some different player ID's in OOTP and the Spritze database so I will change mine to match OOTP. If OOTP does not have one, like for most Japanese and Korean players I will be making my own.
