Historical Player Import Issues
 

The ratings for imported historical players are totally out of whack. Here is Hank Aaron from 1954. Current ratings based on real stats, potential based remaining years of career. Hank was good, he wasn't that good.

Offering this as example. Many other hitters, including some imported pitchers, are 100s across the board. The pitching ratings for imported pitchers seem reasonable, it's the hitting ratings are out of kilter.

And when we based the import on his peak seasons suddenly he's a strike out king.

Is it just with random import or the same happen when you play a normal historical game? I hope not because it's the only way I play...

Imports into a 2019 league. This was never a problem before when I did this in other versions. If I import a whole historical team the ratings seem pretty much in line, but not when I try individual players.

Two more examples. Please take note of Grover "Pete" Alexander's hitting ratings. I posted Stan Musial as another example of a Superman.

Random Debut, neutralized stats, switched to real stats same results. Here are two examples of below average players with inflated power ratings.

At least I'm not the only one who noticed the issue. There doesn't appear to be much interest in addressing it, however.

How and where are you importing the player(s)?

I just tried it and, yup, there's definitely a problem.

I get the expected results when I import a player to a historical league. But when I import the same player to a 2019 league, I see what Dave sees -- inflated ratings.

That's cool. I'm not expecting instant results, just an acknowledgment that the issue is noted and will be looked at. :)

OK, I have looked at this and cannot reproduce this. I have tried the exact same things in a brand new 2019 MLB standard game, and the ratings come out just fine. So whatever it was, it looks to be fixed.

Looks like it's fixed :D Hank's ratings, while very high, reflect one of the greatest hitters who ever played so I'd say this is in line. The pitchers aren't super hitters anymore either. Thank you for working on this.
