Bio Info
Sammy Goss was a fringe contender for the Jr.Lightweight
title in the 1970's, he fought and lost to Tyrone Everett. Sammy's biggest win perhaps came against Edwin Viruet. Percy Richardson served as his Cut Man during his career. Greg |
I used to workout in his gym in Trenton in the late 80's and very early 90s. He said that he was ranked #1 for a few years but never got a shot at a title.

MJ, in doing some research on Sammy Goss I have found in old issues of
The Ring Record Book and Encyclopedia Sammy is indeed rated as high as 2nd when including all fighters from the Junior Lightweight division, so it is quite possible that he was rated number one in either the W.B.A. or W.B.C. Greg |
His brother Barry, who along with Sammy is in the NJ sports hall of fame, actually ran the gym. Sammy would come in a few times a week. They were both great boxing coaches.
