Almost feel like these images belong in another thread, but I guess not that many people are really looking. But the Vault gave up a bunch of minor league guys in the last two weeks along with Barry Cort, a 1977 cameo with Milwaukee. All I had was a colorized headshot, and even Baseball Reference only had a minor league photo.

Hi,

Does anybody have a vault listing that includes KN to KZ??? The site is down where they were and I only have up to KM.

Thanks!

Jack Kucek 1974

Looky what I found...

Never was able to find another image of White Sox pitcher Jack Kucek in thew orangish-reddish hat that was their pre-Veeck uniform. All we had was the dark headshot on his 75' Topps Rookies card. Pretty apparent that this is that photo, but a much bigger crop and from and B&W team issued 8x10. Was able to get Kula to colorize and it looks a bunch better than the Topps version. No watermark, not a Vault image.

Here is Walt Doan, brief Cleveland Naps pitcher, who despite his large frame, was pretty terrible in his 7 games in the big leagues.

Thank you. Here are two other options for Jerry Upp, one from an RMY auction and another from the Ernie Harwell collection.

Same image as the Facepack entry but with much better clarity. Gaule played in 1 game for Louisville in 1889 and later became a police officer in Baltimore.

William Pierson 1918?

2 Attachment(s)
Several years ago an image was provided that purportedly depicted Pierson as a member of the 1924 A's. This comes from an image on file at the LOC, though they were unsure of the validity of the ID.

I'm posting side-by-side the 1921 yearbook photo of Pierson from his senior year at Hahnemann University and the image in question. I may be wrong, but I see very little resemblance between the two.

Facepack upgrade, pictured as a member of the 1892 University of Pennsylvania team. There's a 40 year difference in time between these photos.

1970 White Whales

At another Web site, trying to find 1970 vintage images of several players in honor of that 50th anniversary season. Trying to find a handful of specific things at this late date; most of them exist a Brace photos. Whether or not anyone has them or shares them is the question.

Hope God grants everyone the grace of a great new year.

Wally Wolf (CAL)
Mike Marshall (HOU, not dell)
Dooley Womack (OAK)
Ron Kline (ATL)
Turk Farrell (ATL, spring training?)
Hank Allen (MIL)
Jack Hiatt (CHN, not doubleknit)
Boots Day (CHN, not blowup of '70 Rookies)
Harry Parker (STL, not doubleknit)
Ron Herbel (NYM, Brace photo only)
Hartenstein, McBean, Garber (Gold cap?)

If anyone knows with certainty that any of these cannot exist, would welcome that also.

I've found a woodcut of Steve Matthias, who played for the 1884 Chicago Unions. He is pictured in the April 4, 1887 Nashville Tennessean/American, where he is noted to be the club's shortstop for the coming year.

I've located one of my most wanted players, Eugene Moriarty, who played for multiple major league clubs from 1884 to 1892. His woodcut appeared in the April 11, 1888 Chicago Daily News about his time with the Western League Chicago Maroons.
