MLB Manager 2018

When will MLB Manager 2018 release?

wodi 01-01-2018 07:35 PM

Right around opening day..... assuming they are planning an 18 version

Exactly. I am assuming there will be a new version, but MLB 2017 did not represent an upgrade so we will see.

Over the years the chatter from the devs has gotten quieter and quieter......always makes me nervous they are going to throw in the towel with us

I am hopeful that we will see the release of the full version for mobile devices this year. If it can be done for a game as complex as Civilization VI, it can certainly be done for OOTPB.

To be honest, I would be happy to see something like different roster sets. Like a negro league or all time greats league. Something that really optimizes single season play. (And shorter season options.)

Agreed. MLB2017 took a step back. OOTP would need to add dedicated staff to make this great again. OOTP19 I am sure will be a hit, but the basic phone edition is where most have time.

I will second that motion.

Yes but the company does not prioritize the game.

Odds are you'll either see another version of the same game or no game at all.

They don't mention the game in the newsletters anymore, they dont ever talk about the game.

Hoping it’ll be out soon. But not too soon that it’s super buggy...

I would just really like to see some kind of visible development in the game this year. I know there have been under the hood improvements and design changes in recent versions, but on the face of it Ive basically bought the same game the last few years. Still love it though!

I hope Apple's new app requirements don't hold up development.

I do a podcast called "Two For Three - A St. Louis Cardinals Podcast" (you can find it in iTunes and everywhere else if you're interested) and I just posted an interview with Richard from Out Of The Park and I asked him about the release date and he said MLB Manager 2018 would launch on Opening Day. Also I'm giving away 3 copies of the full game on my podcast too if anyone is interested.

Here's the link to the episode on Audioboom.

Did he share any information about whether we're getting the updated app we've been promised for three years now? Or is it just another cosmetic/roster update?

You can listen to it. My interview was more focused on the full game so he didn't really get into features. But he did say it was coming. For me personally I think it's fairly complete for what it is after they added the editor.
