Manual

During all this coding I really forgot to write a manual... LOL :) Well, looks like I'll have to work some more over the weekend before I can go on vacation...

But the game is pretty easy to understand anyway, and most things are explained...

manual? who uses those things? i thought they were just excess scrap paper.

ey215 12-19-2003 10:33 AM

It's not like OOTP has a working manual either. ;)

WZBarnard 12-19-2003 10:34 AM

Manual? We don't need no stinkin' manual! :D

Honestly, I didn't even know OOTP had a manual :) I just downloaded it and started playing. Even if I knew it had a manual I probably would've taken the typical male route and never looked at it :)

The problem with manuals are that they are written in Japanese, translated into Spanish, then finally translated into English.

I just take the guy route and don't fool with manuals.

Man, this makes me feel great, as I wrap up the TPF manual. ;)

Manu-wah??? ;)

Seriously, while the game is playable without a manual (especially if you've played OOTP), it would still benefit from one, particularily for some of the mechanics that aren't in OOTP.

Workout strategies (e.g. which Flex routines are more important for what type of player), drinking consequences (obviously drinking affects your game, but by how much? Whats the performance difference between a slight or terrible hangover?), etc... I have no problem with the general idea of how they work, but if I'm to optimize my player's development, I need more specifics on *exactly* what each feature affects.

bulldog55 12-20-2003 01:08 PM

Yeah, I was going to make the same comment about workout routines. Any time I think about me and working out, I just remember the scene in the Simpsons when Homer walks up to the gym, looks at the big sign that says GYM, and then asks himself, "Gime? What's a gime?" Then walks inside and says, "Oh.... A gime."

eraddeus 12-20-2003 01:45 PM

It's not like we'll ever use it, John!

chug74 12-20-2003 01:47 PM

Yeah...a manual is not nessesary...BTW Markus, you beat me up in ITP and broke some of my teeth...Your EVIL!!!

Manuals?!?

Hah...so that's what those things are....I thought they were just cover art or a copy of the box itself.

streetballer67 01-01-2004 04:16 PM

I, for one, actually need the manual.

BlitzburghBucco 01-12-2004 06:24 AM

Any update on this? :)

merlin 02-17-2004 08:20 AM

So is there a manual??

Akwebby 06-21-2004 04:31 AM

I would like to know if there is one yet? Although by the time I get an answer I will probably have experimented around with the majority of the parts of the game I would look to a manual for like definitions on how RPG points affect the char, and whether you can increase your initial max like if i start at 8(60) and get to 60(60) can I get the paranthetical max to increase?

dbacks 06-21-2004 01:57 PM

Nope, no manual yet.
