A play-by-play issue

I'm writing to bring up an issue I've noticed that isn't technically a bug, but it is something that would be nice to see addressed and resolved. It involves the play-by-play text in OOTP20, and based on brief preview footage I've seen from OOTP21, it looks like this issue is still in place on there as well.


In order to notice this issue when playing out or observing a baseball game, the game must be setup to show an entire pitch-by-pitch sequence per batter (not one-pitch mode). When a new batter has come to the plate, the play-by-play text will begin to appear before the pitcher throws the first pitch to that batter. And that will always happen regardless of whether or not the batter makes contact with the ball. That's perfect. Nothing wrong with that. But then on every pitch afterward that the same batter faces, the appearance or non-appearance of play-by-play text, before the pitcher throws the next pitch, will tip off what happens on that pitch. For example, if play-by-play text appears before the pitcher throws the next pitch, you already know in advance that the batter will not make contact with the ball. But if play-by-play text does not appear before the pitcher throws the next pitch, then you already know in advance that one of the following will happen: Either the batter will make contact with the ball (regardless of being in play or a foul ball), or the batter will strike out, or the batter will walk.


It would be nice to see this issue ultimately be addressed and resolved in OOTP21.
