Out of the Park Baseball 15 released! (Patch #1 info for pre-order customers)

Hello baseball fans,

we are proud to announce that we have just released Out of the Park Baseball 15! The game is available for download immediately, here are the links to the setup file (you can purchase the game or activate it using a previously purchased OOTP 15 license after installing & starting the game):

Download link for PC:
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror: PC Installer

Download link for Mac:
Main Server: Mac OS X Installer
Mirror: Mac OS X Installer

Download link for Linux:

Main Server: Linux Installer
Mirror: Linux Installer

IMPORTANT - Patch info for pre-order customers:
The download links above are for the latest build, version 15.1.3. To apply the patch, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Changes in Version 15.1.3 compared to the release version from Friday:
- Fixed missing OSA scouting reports when starting a Standard Game from the main screen (this resulted in messed up top prospects list as well)
- The minimum screen resolution before the game automatically switches to fullscreen mode was reduced to 680 (from 700) pixels vertically. Please keep in mind that OOTP 15 was designed for a minimum vertical window reolution of 768 pixels, so for users with screen resolutions of 768 vertical pixels or less and a fixed taksbar (dock on a Mac) we suggest to set your taskbar to auto-hide or run the game in fullscreen mode, otherwise some game screens will have missing info.
- Fixed problems with low overall ratings (stars) when using the new relative rating system
- The game now attempts to automatically import ballpark export data files when creating a new game. These files have to be named properly, i.e. "Fenway Park.prk" and located in the "\ballparks" folder inside the OOTP 15 data folder (i.e. \My Documents\ Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 15\".
- Fixed visibility of some league setting options, i.e. the position player fatigue and the option to set a fee for players purchased (for independent leagues, league setup financial tab)
- Added the option to unretire uniform numbers
- You can now manually change facial hair for players/coaches/managers even if facial hair is disabled for team or saved game
- Added button to Add-Ons dialog to remove files from the Add-Ons downloads folder
- Fixed various other reported bugs & rare crashes
- Fixed various issues with the default roster sets (need to create a new game in order for the changes to be in effect)

Here is the release newsletter, it contains all you need to know about OOTP 15:

Quick thing Markus - the "disable right to refuse minor league assignment" thing is ticked, when it shouldn't be. Under League Settings---->Rules. Also - what's the latest word on the schedule length change breaking the schedule maker?

Thanks for all of your hard work, and please take some time off after this!

Have you reported this in the bug report thread? Please do so (detailed description, not sure that you mean with the schedule length for example), otherwise these may be overlooked in patch #2.

Hi Markus,

FYI, installing over my existing installation did not work for me - I had to uninstall and then reinstall. Working fine otherwise.

Many thanks!

Avindian 04-21-2014 11:00 AM

This includes the MLB stats for draftees fix, correct?

Let me be the first small form factor laptop user out there to say thanks for this one!

Went ok for me, I'm running Win8, maybe it's OS-specific or one of us just got (un)lucky?

GXMarc 04-21-2014 11:15 AM

Here with Win7 I just installed over the old Version, no Problems at all. :)

Yes, when starting a new game. Already existing games cannot be changed via a patch.

GoodOlKevin 04-21-2014 11:30 AM

Not near my CPU right now, but is the posting issue where it was turned off default cleared with the patch in a Standard Game?

Austsaint 04-21-2014 11:46 AM

Just to confirm, if I want all the changes to be implemented then I need to start a new game?

All changes which relate to the major / international league roster sets, yes.

There will come a day when half of America will be off on advance-order release Friday, and the other half will be off on the following official release Monday. Mark my words: a four-day holiday weekend, thanks to Out of the Park Developments.

Yeah, this is huge. Unless I'm experiencing technical problems myself, I usually never give more than a cursory glance to the list of fixes contained in the patches for other games (save for Paradox games). But with OOTP, you always know there's a great chance Markus might add some cool new functions. This is definitely one of those times.

Maybe, I'm running Win 7 also but 64 bit.

SiddGames 04-21-2014 05:01 PM

Hi, will installing the update overwrite changes made to the various name files? (names.txt, etc.) Thanks!

bcduggan 04-21-2014 05:08 PM

Thanks, the patch fixed the decompression errors I had from when I installed the preorder.
