Incessant quarreling, greed, cheating, and treachery among the nation's three competing professional baseball leagues triggered their simultaneous collapse. The "National Pastime" is fading from the public eye, wrought with dozens of competing leagues. Gate revenues wane. Professional players hang up their uniforms and return to the work force.

In a small pub in central Hoboken, New Jersey, a handful of the most diverse and uncommon men purchase the deed to an abandoned lot that was once known as "Elysian Fields," and begin their crusade to save baseball.

WHAT IS THE LBL?
We are a small community off OOTP, writing, and history enthusiasts building a new Historical Fiction League.


WHAT TYPE OF LEAGUE IS THIS?
The LBL is a historical fiction baseball league that is currently drafting its constitution. The League is a writing-based, immersive experience meant to be a space to share creativity and our love for baseball and history.


HOW DO I JOIN?
We are currently looking for more players to be part of our Founding Committee and help build this long-term process. GMs will apply for teams when the league is ready to launch.

Did this ever take off?

No.

We (6 or 7 of us) spent a number of months putting the pieces in place but participation fell off, and the league initiative ended.

Pity looked a good idea.

Here is a small sampling of one of the created feeder leagues, minus the written backstory which has 3 separate written submissions.

I've not determined my pace/approach for this league (already one active fictional sim going) but it is here and ready.

I have a Chicago Industrial League that I created years ago that's very similar to what your MO league is all about.

Haven’t played OOTP for a couple years, online leagues even more years since I’ve played in one. May just be me but finding it hard to find a League were the story is just as important as the game play, I thought this Legacy Baseball was the answer. Maybe looking at it with rose tinted glasses but seemed far more writing/history/slower paced leagues than there is now, now it seems most leagues want to do a season in a month or even less.

Your dynasty is an example of what’s wrong, leagues you want to be in are in the Dynasty thread not the online league thread. ;)
