Grover Alexander missing from data base.

FYI: Grover Alexander, important player, is missing from the data base. I started a 1915 league he was not in the league. I attempted to import the player and received the import failed message. He played from 1911 to 1930.

Pete did not download in the 1915 game but he did respond to Pete in the historical import not Grover. Too many names!

I have been wondering about this: when I was young, he was universally known as Grover Cleveland Alexander. In recent years, when we he gets mentioned, on WhatifSports, and in this game, he called Pete.

Was he actually known to friends as Pete? Why did the habit of calling him by his real name change?

I don't know the exact answer but in my old baseball Encyclopedia book he is listed as Grover Cleveland Alexander (Pete)-smaller font than this. He was also called "Old Pete" when he came out of bullpen in the 1926 world series to strike out NY Yankee T. Lazzeri in Game 7 with the bases loaded. He also had 2 complete game wins over NY. I also read that that the Cubs placed him on waivers somewhere at the begging of the season. The baseball writers gave him the name of Old Pete. Another name used by friends and family was "Dode". He had a difficult life after baseball!
