North American Baseball Association (NABA) needs one owner

The NABA, a well-established online league, needs one owner to run a team. The league just started its 12th season of play and has more than two real-time years of existence. We are running OOTP 6.5.

Check us out:

http://www.nababaseball.org

The NABA is a 20-team league with the following settings:

- Coaches/scouts disabled
- Financials enabled
- Traditional ratings
- no DH
- draft pick trading allowed

The NABA also has a fairly rare feature among online OOTP leagues; the presence of a dedicated Player Agent. The Player Agent is responsible for negotiating contract extensions on behalf of the league's players. This makes for a more realistic financial system, with plenty of room for negotiations, and allows the NABA to be a more immersive experience.

OOTP 6.5 is required to join the league. Teams in the league occupy various cities in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Cuba.

League perks include BOSI and comprehensive CATO history pages.

Hah! 'Bout time Monterrey pwned this league! :)

andjbock 01-31-2006 09:45 AM

This ain't some nancy-fairy-boy league either! You need a set and a sac to compete here!

The team available is a good team with a strong minor league system. If you spend 29 seconds in the forum you can figure out who it is. If you want the team please don't friggin go awol 2 days later.

Were also in mid draft, so if you hurry you might be able to select your own late round picks.

The player agent is a pretty good idea. It allows for a more realistic FA market and offers a unique playing environment. He is a former owner and knows the league well.

Remember if you to join welcome & stay out of my way.

As Player Agent, the open team is actually the one I used to own prior to the most recent owner, so don't go screwing it up, either.

It's got a superb offense and an average pitching staff, but the minor league system is 3rd in the league and very heavy on promising young arms.

Agreed!

Well, actually, I would imagine winning one title compared to the Ottawa Bulldogs 4-peat pales in comparison, but at least for the rest of the upcoming season, I will accept pwnage privileges!

Philadelphia's a good young team though, and the player agent worked out well it its inaugural season - I'd advise anyone remotely interested to take a look and bring Philadelphia to prominence, because the last thing we need is to have Ottawa winning 5 out of 6! :p

I'll bump this as well. A.J. is a great and patient wee little commissioner, and Frank (fhomess) has really added another level of interest to the league with his work as the Player Agent. It'll certainly be interesting to see how the Agent changes the financial landscape of the league over the next few years. Join us, and see how it all turns out. :flowers:

Philadelphia has been filled - for anyone else interested in the future, please let me know, I'll keep you on the waiting list.

Boink

Bumping this up as one of the best teams in the league has now become available. Email me if interested!

I was an original member of this league, and it is one of the best. A.J. Holz is an excellent commish and has been running this league ably for years (real time). You'd be remiss to pass up this opportunity to play in a topnotch online league.

Thanks for the kind words, darkhorse!

Ehh, no problem. The best leagues need to be championed.

I'd apply for the job, but it just wouldn't be right dashing Monterrey's playoff hopes every year. :p

andjbock 02-15-2006 12:33 PM

I will temporarily waive the "must give all your draft picks to Andrew" rule for anyone who takes over Havana.

A.J. Holz 02-15-2006 10:30 PM

Still need a Havana owner!

thegreggor 02-17-2006 12:26 PM

I sent you an email but never heard back.

Why thanks, Andrew!

Folks, the man is correct. We have a team opening, and that's rare in this league. Stop by, check us out, and email me if you're interested.

A.J. Holz 05-04-2006 04:54 PM

Bumping this one, Toronto is still open. Also, Chicago.

fifthbetle 05-04-2006 05:46 PM

If you think you don't have enough time for a league, think again. The NABA has a leisurely pace, but things are run on schedule, and A.J. is still great. We're also still trying to beat Ottawa. Come help us out with that. :friday:

Do you know the way to Monterrey, la, la, la, la, la.

mad0die 05-05-2006 07:20 PM

AJ is a short, little fekker and his name stands for Apple Jacks so join his darn league already.

A.J. Holz 05-08-2006 09:23 AM

Still looking for two owners for the league, which is getting ready to start the season.

A.J. Holz 05-09-2006 07:38 PM

Aha...down to one now, as Toronto is now filled. Chicago, anyone? Email me!

A.J. Holz 05-09-2006 09:28 PM

Chicago's filled, still taking Waiting List applications. Thanks, guys.
