Nice. Love the trees.

Awesome stuff. And belated condolences on the loss of your mother. I lost mine - at age 98 - to COVID in late 2020, about a month before she would have been vaccinated. Long full life. What I have learned is that you don’t get “over” such a loss; you manage to get “through” it and move ahead. That means never forgetting the person, but moving on, as they would have wanted. And skyboxes work!

Thanks, Zappa. Thanks, Pelican—and a belated condolence for your loss. I know sometimes I'm a bit more personal out here than some care to be, but I still remember the old days when the forum was more of a tight community. One of the things we were destined to lose a bit of as the game grew (sigh).

New skybox!

A soft afternoon sky, well clouded but with little chance of a storm. I'm still holding out hope for afternoon skyboxes to become a thing. This one is over Blue Harbor Stadium, made by one of our excellent 3d modders. FYI, I did not take this skybox. I don't know where it is, but it sure looks fun!

Sort of looks like a front moving out. Another winner.

I don’t know what happened, but on a lark today I tried and was able to download Street View from the Apple App Store. I was able to successfully take a skybox with it as well. Thise who can’t/don’t-want-to buy a 360 camera can again takes skyboxes. Someone let me know if they’re able to acquire the App. I had grabbed it 3 years ago when it was still available normally, so that may be the only reason. Also…I did NOT log in to Google for fear they might neutralize it as they did before. Photo still ended up in my Photo Library!😁😁😁

South Pacific skies
1 Attachment(s)
Snagged this sky from a CC source online. It's a tranquil South Pacific sky, in this case cast over Cincy's Crosley Field (Your work, Silvam IIRC). Wanted very badly to find a sky with turkeys, but alas...
As always, the link is below. https://mega.nz/file/TvhUgKhC#qP5T6q...ko35lun2mxfUTo |
Wow, Ty. This might be the most beautiful sky you've ever done. This would be perfect for an evening sky if they ever get that to work. Thanks.
|
Thanks, Zappa! Pulled it from google earth, I think over Bali or Tahiti. One of those south Pacific islands we'd all like to vacation on. There will be some more like this in the future.

New skybox at the blog.
Update: I lied. There are two! |
Thank you. Got them.

These are ****ing amazing :)
|
Thank you, sir!

Hey Ty, where is this sky? Over at the blog, which blog? This sky looks wonderful, I'd like to use it.

Nevermind, I got it.

I haven't forgotten...
Lest you think I've abandoned this, I have not. Winters are tough on the old *******'s neuropathy tainted feet. On the rare occasions I'm out in the cold, Mrs. Cobb gets an education in how close Hyundai heaters are to the very fires of (redacted).
Spring has sprung here in the Frozen Nawth™, and I'll be heading back out again soon! I'm actively posting at the blog (here on the forums, you can find it). Some of it is personal stuff, and you're welcome to share your own thoughts or experiences...or skyboxes or 2-d skies. No topics are off limit there except politics. |
Ty you will do well. You have an eye for the sky. Happy hunting.

Skybox Season has arrived!

New skybox up at my blog here. Ludington State Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.

Got it. It's beautiful. I watch a lot of Gone to the snow dogs videos on youtube and they show a lot of Lake Michigan and other parts of Michigan. Much like my state of PA. Thank you.

Thanks, zappa!
