What kind of music won't you listen to? I would suspect rap, heavy metal, and some kinds of hard rock as well.

I actually do enjoy some heavy metal, once in a while. I attended Korn and Deftones concerts in the past year. I'm a big fan of Metallica. For alternative I like Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc. I also really like classic rock, most kinds. Some of my other favorite groups are AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith. I couldn't list them all, it would take up a whole page.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-05-2022 02:50 PM

Absolutely NO heavy metal, no hair, and no music with certain explicit lyrics, et cetera, generally speaking, at least. You'd never see me listening to Snoop Dogg, for instance, for sure, if you ever saw me in person, supposing I could ever avoid doing so, as well.

I do like at least some of Gloria Estefan's music, and it's a shame that Selena Quintanilla Perez got killed like she did when she was barely into her twenties, so long ago, most definitely. I think she could have made a good career for herself as well, had she not been killed, of course. But she was robbed of life like she was, unfortunately.

I am still fairly big on certain people like Randy Travis, Lionel Cartwright, and Patty Loveless, to name a few, and I do like a good deal of other music in that musical genre. But basically, I don't really go much for country music, except in some cases, after circa 2000 or so. I generally prefer more of a traditional style for country music, actually, more often than not.

As far as real-world national anthems go so far, that I've likely heard well enough and often enough in my life, I think Israel's national anthem "Hatikvah" is probably the best one, the most beautiful, and my most favorite one that I've ever heard, with the "Star Spangled Banner" being number two on my current list of overall favorite real-world national anthems. Remember, I'm very pro-Israel and very pro-America, after all, in my life, as my related profile information should say about me, jg2977. CD out.

I wonder if you are aware of the origins of our Star-Spangled Banner. You might find it interesting and surprising.

CD, you are a man after my own heart... I like "real" country artists like Randy Travis, Lionel Cartwright and Patty Loveless, too.

Modern "country music" is just mediocre pop and rock with a little rap mixed in... none of the current "country" artists are "real" country artists like we had prior to 2000... without steel guitars and fiddles and good, natural country twangs, "country" music just ain't Country anymore... we have lost "real country music" forever now... there was murder on music row in 2000... but it will live in the "real country music" of the 1940s through the year 2000... from Ernest Tubb to George Strait... yep, that is country.

Sorry, these post-2000 singers are not "real country" singers:
Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, The Band Perry, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Lady Antebellum, Dan + Shay and all of the wimpy modern-day "country" singers are not "real country" singers... it a shame how these singers have ruined "real country" music.

Here are two "real" country singers, George Strait and Alan Jackson telling the story of what killed real country music.
Here is "Murder on Music Row"... modern-day phony "country" radio stations didn't play this song when it was released... but I guarantee "real" country music fans wanted to hear it.

Yes, of course I am, the "Star-Spangled Banner" was set to the tune of a drinking song, actually, after Francis Scott Key wrote it up subsequent to the Battle of Fort McHenry in 1814. And actually there are four or five stanzas to it, but we normally hear only the first stanza whenever it's played at many events, sports-related or not.

Certain text in those stanzas is not liked or well-known of, for various reasons I won't get into here, but nevertheless, they are there for the anthem. Many people don't seem to understand what FSK might have been trying to say in that particular patriotic song, or seem to want to understand, for certain reasons, whether easily obvious or not, here. At least, that's what I currently think here, anyway, and I almost certainly could be quite wrong about that here, of course, jg2977.

While we saw the Capitol and the White House both burnt to a degree by the British in the War of 1812, fortunately for America and the whole world, both buildings weren't totally destroyed, in any case. And America managed to ensure it still would continue to exist as a nation even after the War of 1812, by God's magnificent grace here, I'm quite sure, as well.

Our national anthem still fits us fairly well, even more than two centuries after it was first written down and all. However, I still believe that of all the real-world national anthems currently in use, "Hatikvah" for Israel, is almost certainly the most beautiful, the best, and my most favorite national anthems I've ever heard to date in my own life, even more than the Star-Spangled Banner is for me. There's just something about "Hatikvah" that is so uplifting to me, at the very least, I think, much more than any other real-world national anthem I've probably ever heard in my entire life to date. Just so you know, jg2977. CD out.

Love Lionel Cartwright's song "I Heard It on the Radio"... EC learned of Stan the Man Musial listening to KMOX and Harry Caray at night doing play-by-play of the St. Louis Cardinals games.

Like the song says "I had a seat on the very front row and I watched it all on the radio"... the Grand Ole Opry... and the St. Louis Cardinals, Mobile Bears and New Orleans Pelicans.

I'll have to check out Lionel Cartwright, I really don't know his music.

I love the song at the beginning of the Major League movie by Randy Newman where he is singing about Cleveland. I think it might be called "Burn On".

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-05-2022 04:00 PM

Then again, back in the fifties and/or earlier, there probably weren't quite as many radio and television stations, for instance, as there are now, so the air was probably clearer in many ways when it came to receiving stations in various areas of the country. Not only that, the number of major pro sports teams was much lower than it is now, and much of the country wasn't represented in many sports leagues, as well.

Remember, for decades, St. Louis was generally the farthest west and the farthest south of all the major pro sports markets in all four major pro sports leagues. At least until the Cleveland Rams went west, or the Giants and Dodgers did the same, later on, that is. Most of the major pro sports teams in them were congregated mostly in the northeastern to Middle Atlantic states, or in eastern Canada, in the easternmost half of North America, or near the Great Lakes, with the exception of certain important teams elsewhere in North America.

Of course, some still-existing teams started their respective team histories out West or in the South, for example, too, you know. Teams like the San Francisco 49'ers, for one such example. However, most of them folded or moved, in time, just like many other teams all over North America.

Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure, Lord willing and all, of course, folks. Thank you all for your time and attention and all here, then, as always, for that matter. CD out.

EC, if you want to see an actual video of him singing that song, try this link:

Thank you. That is all. CD out.

Better link for "Murder on Music Row," probably:

Thanks, CD... but the sound is much better on my link... it is a stereo studio recording... yours is mono and on tv.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-05-2022 09:31 PM

Well, it probably was on TV at some point, at least. But both versions linked are good, nevertheless. It's just that one had actual video coverage of both singers singing, you see, and the other one didn't, EC. CD out.

Just one major award winner among your players in 1881. Jeddy Holmes won the TU MVP.

No, CD... I disagree... both versions did not have the same quality of sound... I much prefer good sound over visuals... my sound link was excellent in sound quality... in my opinion the link you gave was poor in sound quality.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 10:13 AM

Fair enough, EC. Even though we disagree, I think both links were good links, whether they were either stereoscopic or monoscopic in nature, for each of them.

jg2977, it looks like Morse and Freeman both got at least one award apiece for 1881 as well, besides Holmes getting an MVP award. Hope to see their award cards soon for 1881, along with the appropriate award cards for the relevant players from 1880.

As for clearing space for the upcoming players on the relevant rosters, it is very likely that I will choose to send Barrett Parverol and Simon Clairborne to college. Tanner is due to graduate from college circa 1883, en route to playing for Kenwood a year or so later, at the latest. Jethro will most likely be coming into the IPA in 1883, so please try to keep that in mind as you prepare a spot for him to play with Glasco on their roster. Woolwine is going to ultimately have to give way, it looks like, whether or not he stays on Glasco's roster, to Jethro, somehow, jg2977.

Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm quite sure. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, as always, of course, for sure. CD out.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 10:29 AM

Accidental double post. This post will be re-edited later with different content, as time permits and all, I'm sure. That is all. CD out.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 04:42 PM

jg2977, by any chance, have there possibly been any birth reports yet in the relevant dynasty ever since you started this particular version of your IPA that are sufficiently related to any players in it, as far as you can currently recall or find out? If so, could you perhaps let me know which players might have had children born for them, soon? If you could, I'd really appreciate it, for sure. CD out.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 04:52 PM

You see, if there have been children born to any of the players that have played in your IPA so far here, perhaps we could then create them later as potential players in your IPA as well. That could then help provide even more potential rivals for those on the Freemans' side of things, for instance, if they're not actually descended from Jeddy Holmes, Barrett Parverol, Tanner Garber, or Simon Clairborne, I think. What do you think, jg2977? CD out.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 05:15 PM

By the way, the next generation's players are now starting to be born, likely with Gordon Clyde Freeman leading off here, out of all of them:

Gordon Clyde Freeman: February 11, 1881 (Columbia, Missouri, USA; son of Henry Clarence and Geraldine Morse Freeman)

Arthyr Gyolgi Freeman: March 10, 1882 (Columbia, Missouri, USA; son of Henry Clarence and Geraldine Morse Freeman)

Jeremiah (Jerry) Holmes: May 19, 1882 (Birmingham, Alabama, USA; son of Jedediah Holmes and Jessamyn Sullivan Holmes)

Bradley Parverol: November 21, 1883 (Memphis, Tennessee, USA; son of Barrett Parverol and Tracy Vincent Parverol)

Duncan Freeman: December 16, 1884 (Columbia, Missouri, USA; son of Henry Clarence and Geraldine Morse Freeman)

Otis Garber: June 3, 1885 (Amarillo, Texas, USA; son of Tanner Garber and Diana Kanzakis Garber)

Elijah Freeman: July 15, 1887 (Brainerd, Minnesota, USA; son of Henry Clarence and Geraldine Morse Freeman)

Hugh Clairborne: February 25, 1888 (San Francisco, California, USA; son of Simon Clairborne and Olivia Darby Clairborne)

As for other potential members of the next generation of the IPA who may play in it later, we'll have to decide later on a potential case-by-case basis, of course, I believe, jg2977. Whether they're related to those on the Freemans' side of things or not, that is, you know.

Talk more later, as time permits and all, I'm sure, Lord willing and all, of course. Thank you for your time and attention and all here, as always, in any case. That's all for this particular post here, then, I think. CD out.

Clovidequano Dovatha 08-06-2022 05:44 PM

Have you posted the relevant cards as follows for my players yet, other than the one seen above for Jeddy Holmes on this page? IF not, could you please do so soon, perhaps?

Zebulon Morse: MVP 1880, Great Glove 1880, Platinum Stick 1880, Great Glove 1881, Platinum Stick 1881

Kyle Walton: MVP 1880, Platinum Stick 1880, Platinum Stick 1881

Jedediah Holmes: Rookie of the Year 1880, Platinum Stick 1880, Platinum Stick 1881

Henry Freeman: Platinum Stick 1880, Platinum Stick 1881

Thanks in advance if you can possibly post them all later here, as appropriate and all, of course, jg2977, just as soon as possible and all. That is all. CD out.
