Rosario's Two-Homer Night Sparks Yankees Comeback Win Over Athletics
NEW YORK — On April 7, 2026, Amed Rosario emerged as an unlikely hero for the New York Yankees, homering twice—including a go-ahead three-run shot in the eighth inning—to rally his team to a 5-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics at Yankee Stadium.
Rosario, given a rare start at third base over Ryan McMahon by manager Aaron Boone, delivered in a big way. He launched his first homer earlier in the game before crushing a three-run drive off Mark Leiter Jr. in the eighth that flipped a 3-2 deficit into a 5-3 lead. David Bednar sealed the win with a perfect ninth, earning the save as the Yankees improved to 8-2 on the young season.
The comeback came after the Athletics built an early advantage against starter Cam Schlittler. Brent Rooker and other Oakland hitters applied pressure, but the Yankees' bullpen held firm until the offense exploded late. Aaron Judge contributed defensively with a strong throw, while Giancarlo Stanton added an RBI single. The crowd of 39,853 at the newly upgraded Yankee Stadium roared as Rosario's second homer sailed into the seats, marking his first multi-homer game since 2021.
This performance highlighted the Yankees' depth amid significant injuries. With Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón on the 15-day IL recovering from elbow issues, and shortstop Anthony Volpe sidelined, role players like Rosario stepped up. The win maintained New York's strong start, keeping them atop the AL East after a successful road trip where the pitching staff posted a microscopic ERA.
Boone praised Rosario's preparation and the team's resilience in post-game comments. The victory demonstrated that the 2026 Yankees can win in multiple ways—through timely power hitting and late-inning execution—even when stars are unavailable. It also showcased improvements at Yankee Stadium, with new video boards and ribbon displays enhancing the fan experience during the dramatic eighth inning.
As the series continued, the Yankees faced challenges, splitting the next games and ultimately dropping two of three to the Athletics. However, Rosario's night provided momentum and confidence heading into matchups against the Tampa Bay Rays. With Luis Gil recently recalled to bolster the rotation after a strong Triple-A stint, the club is managing its pitching depth carefully while relying on veterans like Judge (who has three homers and seven RBI early on) to anchor the lineup.
In the competitive AL East landscape, this type of clutch performance from unexpected contributors is vital. The Yankees' ability to overcome deficits against divisional foes or wild-card contenders will define their pursuit of another deep postseason run. Rosario's heroics served as a reminder that championship-caliber teams find ways to win with roster flexibility and timely production.
The April 7 win not only boosted the record but also energized the fan base during a chilly homestand. As warmer weather arrives and injured players inch closer to returns, nights like this illustrate the Yankees' potential for sustained success in 2026.
Hoskins provided consistent extra-base power in the middle of the order as part of Cleveland's season-high 16-hit outburst. The veteran addition has added thump to a lineup looking for more production in 2026.
The milestone performance highlights Hoskins' value and boosts team confidence heading into the next stretch.
CLEVELAND — Joey Cantillo turned in a dominant performance this week, helping the Cleveland Guardians secure a series win over the Kansas City Royals with strong pitching in early April 2026.
Cantillo struck out nine batters in his outing, contributing to the staff's ability to keep games close and set up late rallies. The Guardians won the rubber match 10-2 on April 8 after splitting the first two games.
This showing reinforces that last year's pitching dominance was no fluke and keeps Cleveland in first place in the AL Central.
The game I watched this morning between the Braves and D-backs was really played in poor taste in my opinion. the D-backs had their catcher pitching and still, the Braves players going for Homeruns. 17-1, come on.All that is, is showing up the other team and embarrassing them. I think it was a total lack of "good sportsmanship"

First you pay for parking at the Target parking booth and then drive into the Walmart parking lot. You go up the Amazon escalators onto the Nike concourse. You go to your seats, sponsored by American Airlines. If you have to go to the bathroom, you'll go to the Yahoo restrooms before getting a hot dog and beer at the Paypal snack bar. Oh yes, the steps down to your seats are the IBM steps.
The players play on the Kodak field at Visa Stadium where they stand on the Xerox sidelines after emerging from the Pepsi locker rooms.

WAY, WAY outta hand. This crap and all the bettering is just crushing sports for me.

Has anyone been able to activate mlb.tv through espn with Spectrum silver?

With Spectrum silver package I have "free" access to espn unlimited streaming which works great. However, mlb.tv has now moved to espn.

When I try to access a spring training game through espn, it always takes be back to the activation instructions for various providers which includes Spectrum. I follow the instructions and the same thing happens each time, I'm redirected back to the activation page... so frustrating!!

In the past, I've purchased mlb.tv through their site but since it's suppose to be included with the Spectrum package that I'm already paying an outrageous price for, I want to access it that way...

My previous mlb.tv subscription expired on March 1st...

Thanks!
