Yesterday, shortly after the hour of the wolf passed, the leader of the Cobb clan passed on. My mother was 86, but her years should not be how we define her.

Mom was born to George and Helen Daniels in the shadow of an upcoming World War in Midland, Michigan. My grandfather was in the beginning of what would become a lifelong career in Chemical Engineering with Dow Corning, working on the top secret waterproofing projects, so he served his country in the lab rather than in the field....

The eldest Mrs. Cobb (Mom) has had her meds removed by hospice save for morphine, and is not expected to last out the week. Prayers, positive thoughts, and good wishes will be appreciated as is your wont. I’ll be out for the week.

for dinner. Give me calamari and gyros all freaking day! The Greek gave us good food and service. My old favorite youth haunt is closed for repairs.

Coffee and cold pizza this morning as we prep for our Comerica field trip. Taking some Goodale’s donuts on the trip as well. If you don’t know how good they are, next time you pass through Grayling, get off the Business Loop and check them out. Voted best bakery in Traverse City…which is an hour away from them!
