Full Outfield may require Deal-making

Posted 05-17-2010 at 01:05 AM by ccaranna (The 1950 Simulation)

May 10, 1950 - Philadelphia

Trade rumors have recently been stirring around the Athletics clubhouse regarding the outfield. Currently the Athletics are sporting no fewer than seven outfielders on the active roster, and the competition for a starting spot has been fierce.

Barney McCosky and Wally Moses have both been vocal about their desire to be everyday players, however with Elmer Valo producing MVP numbers, Sam Chapman leading the club with 4 HRs, and the recent...

Bunker Hill 8, Valmeyer 6 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

Exciting come-from behind win! We trailed 6-0 at one time, but came back thanks to three long balls. 2B Eric Evans hit a 2-run shot in the 5th, 3B Theodore Pruitt hit a 3-run bomb in the 7th and C Ray Monroe hit a 2-run shot in the 8th to give us the lead. It was Evan's and Pruitt's first HRs of the year. Our other run scored on an error.

Well, where else will I write about things that aren't OOTP-related?

I have a Football Manager 2010 career going, which would explain the two-week delay between postings on my OOTP dynasty thread. Coaching Worcester, somehow I have the team sitting in third place in Conference South, and the only unbeaten team remaining (4 wins, 4 draws). We were picked to finish 20th before the season began. Needless to say, I'm alternately pleased and stunned. It would be even better if I understood...

Win now

You decide whether you believe that the Royals are really that good, or that the AL Central is really that mediocre. As long as the Royals are actually planning on spending money and being proactive at the trade deadline, more power to them. I just don't expect this to last. Why would it, especially if Greinke's out of action for too long?

May 10, 1950 (Wednesday) - Philadelphia, PA

W/L record 12-12 (.500), 5th place, 2.5 GB, Streak W2, Last10 5-5

At half past midnight, the Philadelphia Athletics squeezed the final out on an evening the Cleveland Indians would prefer to forget. In front of a small, rain soaked crowd of 7,111 at Shibe Park, the Indians pitching issued 16 walks on route to a 11-4 drubbing. Persistent rain throughout the evening caused the field conditions to deteriorate, culminating in...
