Fourteen new players were eligible for Hall of Fame voting after the 1907 season:

Steve Brodie was a starting outfield for Washington for 12 years, amassing 1,761 career hits and appearing in two All Star games.


Pete Browning appeared in 8 All Star games and won 5 Silver Slugger awards at third base over the course of his 21 year career that he spent mostly in Cleveland. He finished with 2,191 career hits.


Charlie Buffington appeared in nine All Star games and won two Cy Young awards over the course of his 21 career. He was a six time 20-game winner who finished with 325 career wins and 2,100 career strikeouts.


Dick Burns was an 11-time All Star who also won a Cy Young award. He finished with 223 career wins.


Fred Carroll was a six-time All Star at the catcher position who finished with 1,316 career hits.


Jocko Flynn was a two-time All Star who also won a World Series MVP award in 1892. He finished with 186 career wins.


Hank Gastright won 157 games over his 13-year career, appearing I one All Star game and winning the AL Reliever of the Year Award once.


Ted Kennedy was a pitcher in the St. Louis organization who compiled 128 wins over an 18 year career.


Billy Nash won ten Gold Glove awards at third base over the course of his 19 year career, mostly with the White Sox. He finished with 1,952 career hits.


Darby O’Brien appeared in 12 All Star games and won nine Silver Slugger awards at first base over the course of his 16 year career with Detroit. He also has an MVP award and finished with 2,098 career hits.

    Billy Shindle was a third baseman who made three All Star appearances and contributed 2,186 career hits over his 17 year career.


    Bill Stemmeyer made it to four All Star games and had 161 victories with the Cubs over his 18 year career.


    George Van Haltren made it to one All Star game. He had 2,057 hits over his 16 year career.


    Rasty Wright led the league in bases on balls four times, finishing his career with 1,131 career hits over 13 years.


    These players joined Ed Beatin, John Clarkson, John Coleman, Larry Corcoran, Dave Drew, Jesse Duryea, Pretzels Getzien, Fred Goldsmith, Hardie Henderson, Mickey Hughes, George Keefe, Matt Kilroy, Gus Krock, Jocko Milligan, Frank Mountain, Tony Mullane, Dave Orr, Abner Powell, Monte Ward, and Chicken Wolf on the 1907 ballot.

    Charlie Buffington and Dick Burns, both in their first year of availability, both won induction in 1907. Fourteen players failed to meet the eligibility requirements to appear on the 1908 ballot. These players were Steve Brodie, Mickey Hughes, Ed Beatin, Fred Goldsmith, Frank Mountain, Monte Ward, Jesse Duryea, George Keefe, George Van Haltren, Chicken Wold, Billy Shindle, Ted Kennedy, and Rasty Wright.
