1876 - Playoff Rosters, Huge blow for Cleveland!

Here we are again, back in the World Series, once again up against our rivals from Cleveland. A quick look at the Cleveland Playoff Roster shows they're in big trouble this time:
While they will surely rely on their batting stars like Jim A Devlin, Jim 'Deathblow' Brooks and Cap Anson, they also got a good contact hitter and a familiar face on the right field position. Carlos Tamayo, who had left Boston in the preseason has played his best season of his career so far, with an AVG of 0.33 in 53 games. However, Cleveland's chances took a huge blow as both their regular star pitcher Cy Bentley (8 months) and his backup Ivan Alcala (13 months) picked up huge injuries and will miss the entire World Series. They will have to rely on their third man in the bullpen, Tommy Bond, who is pretty unknown so far. His stats seem to be pretty good, I wonder why he hasn't gotten more games in the past to be honest. We'll see if this is actually a weakening or if it will turn into a strenghtening of their lineup. After all, it's certainly a surprise bag.
On the other side, we can pick from an embarrassment of riches:
We are only missing George Bechtel who had picked up an injury in the decider game versus Chicago, but he'll be back in a couple of days and will only miss the first two games. Other than that, everybody is ready to bring another title to Boston. Key factors will be the performances of Levi Meyerle, George Hall, Nick Wehman as well as the hopefully good impact on morale and team spirit from our captain Orator Shafer.
While Cleveland were the clear favourites in the previous season, I think we're at least on par this time, if not even slight favourites, given the Blues' bullpen problems. Our reinforcements this season blended in perfectly and instantly boosted our overall strength.
Enough of the preliminary skirmishing now, lets get ready for Game 1...
