1901 Analysis

Interestingly, I have felt like this team has been in rebuild move for the last two seasons, and we managed to make it to two consecutive National League pennants. Each of the last two seasons, my team has been completely outclassed by its American League opponent.

Some tough decisions are coming up. I'd like to see Jake Beckley, Lou Bierbauer, Billy Hamilton, and Lave Cross all remain career Brooklyn players, but there comes a time when we have to start thinking about the success...

1900 Hall of Fame Voting

Six new players became eligible for Hall of Fame voting on the 1900 ballot.

Lady Baldwin spent most of his career as a reliever for the Boston National League team. He made it to four All Star games and won the National League Reliever of the Year Award in 1888.

1899 Hall of Fame Voting

Three new players joined the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time in 1899.

Fred Mann was a center fielder who played predominantly in Detroit and Washington in his 11 year career. His biggest claim to fame was leading the league in triples four times from 1884 to 1887. He earned three All-Star appearances and three Silver Sluggers.
