I just got off the phone with my sister-in-law, Katya. She came home today with a visa to the mother country in hand. By the end of the month, she'll be in England, savoring the environs of Norwich! As it happens, Mrs. Cobb's vacation begins this afternoon as well. I'm thinking despite the rain and gloomy skies, it's time to grill steaks and corn on the cob, and raise a toast or two to Calvin and Katya. I'd be grateful to those so inclined to hoist a tankard in their honor as well.

We had a tough one yesterday. Both the dogs had an unfortunate encounter with a porcupine. We had a blowout on the way to the Emergency Vet. I cracked a tooth. After no sleep for a whole day and a rather difficult trip home, dogs are recovering nicely. I'll see the dentist soon enough. Tires...yeow.

Of course, as I checked the security camera, I saw that I slept through a beautiful sky day. Grrrrr. I'm not whining, but it was a rough 24 hours I don't wish to soon repeat. ...
