In League News:
Kendrys Morales signed a 3 year contract totaling $16.2 mil. to play for the Tampa Bay Rays. Last season playing for Seattle Morales hit .262 with 27 HR and 77 RBI. Morales will play 1B and bat third for the Rays.

Now well look at all of our pitchers heading into the spring.

Starters:
LHP Francisco Liriano: 7-6 2.85 ERA 126.1 IP 110K 1.16 WHIP
Will be the opening day starter as long as he can stay healthy.
LHP Wandy Rodriguez: 12-11 3.86 ERA 193.1 IP 145 K 1.32 WHIP
We are glad to have Wandy returning for 2014. He will provide a veteran presence and should be a solid #2 for us.
RHP Ivan Nova: 7-8 4.09 ERA 151.2 IP 100 K 1.33 WHIP (for Yankees)
Nova will be in the rotation some where to start the year, depending on how the spring goes it could be in the middle or the back of the rotation.
RHP James McDonald: 9-13 4.24 ERA 189 IP 187K 1.32 WHIP
We have 2 rotation spots open and 8 men vying for the job. McDonald is the most likely to end up in the rotation but he will have to earn it.
LHP Justin Wilson: 7-11 4.73 ERA 148 IP 141 K 1.44 WHIP (at AAA Indianapolis)
Pitched brilliantly in a late season call up. His numbers in AAA weren't quite as spectacular but he could end up in the pen if he doesn't make the rotation.
LHP Jeff Locke: 6-3 5.97 ERA 86 IP 74 K 1.40 WHIP (at AAA Indianapolis)
We are hoping that Locke can impress us in the spring and make the roster somewhere. it seems unlikely that he will be in the rotation though because we are really looking for a righty to fill that last spot to balance the rotation.
RHP Vin Mazzaro: 7-7 5.27 ERA 145 IP 126 K 1.67 WHIP (at AAA Indianapolis)
Had an awful year in Indianapolis last year. Will have to have a good spring to make the team.
RHP Simon Castro: 14-9 4.88 ERA 167.2 IP 161 K 1.57 WHIP (at AA Birmingham)
Spent most of last year in AA so it doesn't seem likely that he will make the big league roster but still has a chance at the rotation mostly because he's a righty
RHP Iwane Inoue: (Pitched in Japan)
We are hoping for big things from Inoue. We signed him as a reliever but pitched mostly as a starter in Japan. We know he has good stuff and consider him a dark horse to make the rotation.
LHP Dallas Keuchel: 4-3 4.32 ERA 81.1 IP 51 K 1.51 WHIP (at AAA Oklahoma)
Taken in the Rule 5 draft and it seems unlikely that he'll make the rotation if we can't find a spot for him in the pen then he will be going back to Houston.

Relievers:

RHP Chris Perez: 2-6 21 SV 3.63 ERA 69.1 IP 52 K 1.36 WHIP (combined for Cleveland and Pittsburgh)
Will be the closer to start the year.
RHP Jason Grilli: 4-8 15 SV 4.42 ERA 71.1 IP 89 K 1.46 WHIP
Hoping he can get his control back because we really need a shut down guy for the 8th inning.
RHP Chris Leroux: 9-4 2 SV 5.27 ERA 70 IP 76 K 1.47 WHIP
Had a terrible end to his season and he will be competing to earn a spot on the roster.
LHP Tony Watson: 3-3 1 SV 3.26 ERA 58 IP 61K 1.47 WHIP
Had a solid 2013 season. Greg worries that his stuff may be slipping but for now he is looking to be left handed set up man but will need to earn that title in the spring.
RHP Bryan Morris: 1-2 1 SV 3.42 ERA 52.2 IP 49 K 1.10 WHIP
Put up good numbers last year and will likely be a middle reliever for us if he can be consistent.
RHP Kameron Loe: 0-2 0 SV 6.18 ERA 39.1 IP 50 K 1.65 WHIP (for Seattle)
Had an awful year for Seattle but we really like his stuff and if he can bounce back he will be a good weapon out of the pen.
RHP Jared Hughes: 0-0 1 SV 3.14 ERA 28.2 IP 26 K 1.08 WHIP
Posted solid numbers for us in a short stint last year but will need to prove himself in the spring to find a spot in this crowded pen.
LHP Daniel Ray Herrera: 0-0 0 SV 8.53 ERA 19 IP 13 K 2.53 WHIP (for Toronto)
Wasn't able to get anyone out last year as he battled injuries all season long. We took him in the Rule 5 draft because we need lefties and we think he can bounce back. If not he will be returning to Toronto
LHP Mike Zagurski: 9-4 0 SV 4.02 ERA 69.1 IP 74 K 1.36 WHIP (At AAA Indianapolis)
Did well in a late season call up last year and hell be battling for that last lefty spot in the spring.
RHP Jeanmar Gomez: 4-4 10 SV 7.08 ERA 48.1 IP 36 K 1.78 WHIP (At AAA Indianapolis)
Nothing good to say about the time he spent in AAA last year but he pitched 3.2 scoreless innings in Pittsburgh last September so hell get a look in the spring.
RHP Jhan Marinez: 3-2 39 SV 3.04 ERA 53.1 IP 75 K 1.28 WHIP (At AA Birmingham)
Spent most of last year at AA so its very likely hell end up in Indianapolis but could still make the team with a good spring.
