Here you will be able to follow the baseball history as it happen in real life via OOTP12. So expect nothing fictional as I use the real leagues and team rooster as they were (except for the line-up). The only real element of surprise is the injury factor and of course the OOTP factor.

Hope you will enjoy and don't hesitate to comment on special event that happen in those years (as we have real expert here it's a good way to learn about the baseball past history).

The end of 73

Posted 08-01-2011 at 07:34 PM by AESP_pres (A simulation from 1871 to ?)

1873 was the most stable years for the young association. After the departure of Elizabeth august only one other left the league at the season end. Sadly it was against a failure to set a franchise to Washington after 3 try in 3 seasons.

To replace the 3 clubs gone two cities will get a franchise for 1874. Hartford and Chicago back after a two years hiatus.

With no real surprise Boston become the league champion this year. Boston has gathered one of the best line-up ever seen this season with stars players such as Al Spalding, Jim O'Rourke, Ross Barnes, Harry Shafer, George Wright, Andy Leonard and Deacon White.

Another one bites the dust

Posted 08-01-2011 at 04:45 PM by AESP_pres (A simulation from 1871 to ?)

What else is new? Yes another team disband today (08/08).

The Elizabeth Resolutes were in last place (if we don't consider the Baltimore Marylands) with 4 wins in 23 games.

The only player worthing a mention is Art Allison (23G - 31/100 - 12RBI - 14R - .310/.337/.320)

Doug Allison (NYU) and Eddie Booth (BRA) were able to find a new team for the end of 1873.

It was a short leaving franchise... 6 games, 6 defeats, a team batting average of .210, 33 runs scored, an ERA of 2.76, 58 runs allowed,...

One of the most awfull team who had ever played with this awesome rooster :

Pitchers
Unknow McDoolan
6G - 0W/2L - 4ER - 24R - 3BB - 0K - 1.50

Frank Sellman
6G - 0W/3L - 9ER - 23R - 3BB - 0K - 6.08

Ed Stratton
6G - 0W/1L - 2ER - 11R - 1BB - 2K - 1.54

Hitters
