Note: I will be managing teams in this game and acting as commissioner. This is a fictional historical league. Fictional players will play alongside historical players whose careers in the game may be very different to what they were in real life. I will start as general manager of Brooklyn Atlantics and may change teams from time to time. All games will be simmed.

The Brooklyn Atlantics have hired Johnny Barnes as their general manager. Mr. Barnes's first task was to draft a team at the Major League inaugural draft. Here are the Brooklyn draft selections.

Round-Pick(Overall)

1-3(3) P George Zettlein
This 26 year old is one of the league's best pitchers.

2-6(14) P John McMullin
While other teams selected position players in the second round Brooklyn added to their pitching staff with this pick.

3-3(19) C Doug Allison
A good catcher with some power to his swing.

4-6(30) 3B Cap Anson
An 18 year old 3B who can also play at catcher. One of baseball's best batting prospects.

5-3(35) SS John Bass
A decent fielder at SS and RF with good power.

6-6(46) 1B Nealy Phelps
A 30 year old with good gap power.

7-3(51) 2B John Hatfield
An elite baserunner with good defense at 2B. Can also play at LF.

8-6(62) C Charlie Hodes
An average offensive player who can defend well at multiple positions.

9-3(67) CF Art Allison
A decent player on both offense and defense.

10-6(78) 2B Sam Jackson
A decent all round player who can play 2B, 3B, and LF.

11-3(83) LF Charlie Pabor
A backup LF who can pitch in an emergency.

12-6(94) C Marshall King
A good baserunner and versatile defender.

13-3(99) RF Joe Simmons
A good baserunner who can play at RF, CF, and 1B.

14-6(110) SS Gene Kimball
A versatile defender with good baserunning ability.

15-3(115) RF Frank Barrows
The final player selected in the draft. Decent outfielder with poor hitting ability.
