Post Season 1876

Posted 05-03-2010 at 02:41 PM by scott1964 (The Northern American BaseBall League)

I survived to manage another season at Cincinnati. A few bright spot for the Reds. First is 29 yo George Trenwith. He played 12 games and hit in 11 of those for a .328 avg and 5 RBI. Replaced Ralph Ham at 3B. The other standout was starting pitcher George Knight. George started 22 games and finished with a 10-8 record with 25 strike out and a 1.70 era. George Wright had a very good season, .321 avg a lone HR and 30 RBI. Al Pratt had a disappointed season. Pratt's record was 13-22 with 2 saves. Al...

1876 Season

Posted 05-02-2010 at 02:42 AM by scott1964 (The Northern American BaseBall League)

Reds are about half way through the 1876 season. Cincinnati is not in last place anymore. Currently riding a 3 game winning streak. End of June record is 12-16. I am expecting to be fired any day now.

1875 Season

Posted 04-28-2010 at 06:14 PM by scott1964 (The Northern American BaseBall League)

Reds were in the hunt for the most part of 1875. Until Al Pratt went out for the season with bone chips in the elbow. I doubt the Reds will be able to make the playoffs. They are 3 back and 4 to go.

1874 Season

Posted 04-24-2010 at 01:31 PM by scott1964 (The Northern American BaseBall League)

Well the Reds petered out towards the end of the season and playoffs. Lost the last two remain regular season games and were beat by Philadelphia Athletics 4-1 in the championship series.

Off to 1875

1873 Post Season

Posted 04-20-2010 at 03:04 PM by scott1964 (The Northern American BaseBall League)

1873 Closed out with a bang. St Louis appeared in their third championship and were defeated by the Chicago White Stockings. My team, the Reds, bowed out and finished 5 games back of Chicago. If Uncle Al did not get injured, the Reds might have had a better chance. Both Chicago and Cincinnati were 18-7 after the All Star break.
