Grafton 8, Bunker Hill 7 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

We tried to come back late, but just couldn't quite get there. Grafton got off to a big lead thanks to lots of hits (17). CF Henry McGee had 3 hits for Grafton, and so did their pitcher, Stanley Martin. Four other batters had 2 hits each. Grafton has now won 11 in a row and we're 0-8 against them. Maybe the 2nd half will be kinder to us.

Grafton 8, Bunker Hill 5 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

Grafton clinches. CF Henry McGee led the game off with a HR to put them up 1-0 and 1B Adam Flannery made it a 3-0 game with a 2-run shot in the 4th. They didn't stop there, adding 5 more thanks to timely hitting. All of our offense came from CF Doug Blanchard who hit two bombs and drove in all 5 runs in the losing effort.

Grafton 5, Bunker Hill 2 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

Grafton won their 9th in a row and now lead by 6 games. SP Ronald Peters beat us today with a nice solid 8 innings of work and 2B Ed Allen delivered a big 2-out 2-run double in the 8th that put the game out of reach. The first half winner is all but decided. We'd have to finish 7-0 and Grafton would have to go 0-7 for them to lose it.

Bunker Hill 4, Valmeyer 3 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

We won in dramatic fashion: a walk-off squeeze play in the 10th! RF Criag Clark got it started with a one-out triple. Valmeyer walked the next hitter to bring up the pitcher's spot (and we were out of bench players). MR Tim White excuted a perfect squeeze for the win. Grafton also won, and we'll be facing them next. We really need a sweep.

Valmeyer 6, Bunker Hill 2 (MEBL -- Low Minors)

Valmeyer had guys all over the place. 1B Rob Higgins was 4-for-5 with a HR, C Mitchell King was also 4-for-5. All together the Vampires had 16 hits. I guess we should feel lucky that they only scored in one inning. Still it was enough to get us as we really didn't get much going offensively. Grafton won again (7 in a row) so we're now at 5 GB.
