This one is all about me...

I was at the doctor Thursday afternoon. Saw my favorite FNP, Lauren. She was concerned by my reported symptoms and ordered a massive panel of bloodwork. Only the A1C and glucose were back by the time the Lab folk quit Friday, as expected. They were through the roof.
Long story short, even a layperson like me can read the numbers, and Lauren was correct: I've got adult onset diabetes. Both test results are waaaaay to far out of kilter to be anything else. C'est la vie...it can be lived with.
My family is rallying about to give me support, and my good friend Jimmy (also stricken), is a wealth of information, as will be my near-future brother in law, Calvin...another sufferer. I am blessed by having these people in my life.
Mrs. Cobb and I are already formulating plans on how to deal with this. She's an aggressively forward thinking woman, y'know. She'll likely be going with most of the dietary changes herself just to ensure that I stay the course.
I know I said all about me, but I am so very proud of Mrs. Cobb. She's gotten out of a position at her company she had come to loathe, and has moved to another she can already tell she'll love! She's been familiar with and spoken with her new supervisor for almost her entire time at the company, and they think similarly. Do me a favor and hoist a tankard in her honor this evening...there cannot be many women like her in the world, and I know with absolute certainty that I'm one lucky guy.
Got the memorial Day Curse (yard work) to overcome, and then it'll be skybox time again! Very excited about this.
