Status update & Perfect Team delay news

We will be launching OOTP 23 tomorrow worldwide, and we first want to say that we truly appreciate all the feedback we have gotten from the community on the beta version so far.

However, the beta has revealed that Perfect Team mode is not as stable as it needs to be at this point.

As you know, we've been forced to move to an entirely new backend provider. And the stress test of the public beta has revealed issues with the infrastructure that are causing serious problems during simulations. Thankfully, with your diligent work during the beta we were able to isolate these issues.

However, we now have a great deal of work to do to fix this, so that we can ensure a smooth experience for all players. Therefore, we have decided to disable Perfect Team in the launch version of OOTP 23 tomorrow. We are working day and night on this and will keep you all informed about our progress.

You can still access the beta of Perfect Team using this week's beta releases of the game (for example build number 23.0.43 from today), so if you would like to continue to help us with feedback, we would really appreciate it.

I really have only played Perfect Team so not sure if my brain will be able to handle this. Especially still doing home-schooling of my son lol

Interesting....are you planning at all to work OOTP into your lessons? I think one might be able to use it to teach a number of real world skills (strategy, managing financials, etc.) My guess is it might also be fun for both of you.

I appreciate you and your co-workers efforts Markus! I have no doubt you all gave up a significant portion (or all) of your weekend to work on getting PT23 where we all want it to be.

I guess I was lucky (or just oblivious) and didn't notice any major problems with my time in the PT beta. The only thing I noticed is what I regarded as a very minor issue. The names for some of the players weren't rendered properly on my card list.

Hopefully, there's a bright side to the extra work all of you are putting in now in that it'll help you when designing and programming next year's PT mode.

It's felt like years since last year's PT debuted. I've forgotten, will we get to keep rewards earned from completing missions during the beta, and how many packs should I expect to have when the final PT build releases? I played last year and also completed the "loyalty" mission.

Everything will be reset after beta, including missions and rewards.

Hopefully when it is ready they will open it up without any further adieu. There is no reason to wait until Friday or until Monday or whatever. The customers have already waited and most of us are patient.

I would hope that they wipe the current beta and run one for at least a few days before going live. Especially with something as critical as the server or server connection not being able to handle the traffic.

Getting a solid start makes a difference. I would hope that we get at least a few days notice before the launch.

That would be great I played the Beta before the patch and enjoyed it mostly. There was a couple of hiccups. Another one would allow the Steam users to play as well as those of us that overwrote the beta file with the update.

I'm not sure a new beta is needed. Sounds like the major issue causing the delay is related to sims which I would assume is fixed entirely on the back end not in the client.

Every time there is a new release it is effectively a new Beta, especially now that all of the entry pools have been re-set.

It would have been nice though (as others have suggested), if the restart was with blank rosters and new starter packs, points, etc. - as on Day One.

I say this because I essentially sold and resold every card I had in order to buy new packs to try and get out of the Jim Unknown morass. That left my roster completely depleted.

I realize a re-set to the point where everything went awry is not practicable.

Nothing against the original poster - just venting.

My 3rd place 112 games over .500 team is now 9-27.
