OOTP vs Everyone else

Just googled Diamond Mind Baseball.
Isn't it interesting that their NEW features are OLD features to OOTP?
Just shows that in the world of baseball sims...
OOTP is above and beyond everyone else.
Has anyone else looked at other sims just to compare them with OOTP?

Used to love Diamond Mind and Strat. Just can't see myself going back to games in which I have to purchase season disks. OOTP has also ruined me for single season replays. There's just something special about seeing a OOTP league develop a history of its own. I check out their websites off and on. Still love reading some of the articles Strat posts on their site.

Last year, I did a full season real-time preplay on the 2015 Marlins.
Had to admit, that was a lot of fun, even though my Marlins didn't make the playoffs.
But yes, I agree with David Watts.
Season disks!
Aren't we kind of PAST that already?
And yes im talking to you, Diamond Mind, Strat-o-Matic, and DKsports?

Funny thing is in baseball Mogul I don't know how they get their numbers but on their website it says that is the number one selling PC baseball game. Can't imagine why or how.

I played the heck out of the Strat Board game. Also played APBA's board game. Never had the Pursue the Pennant(Diamond Mind) board game though.

I also had the SOM board game and loved it.
I also had PTP with the ballpark backgrounds.
SOM was easier to play, but PTP had more depth.
Statis Pro Baseball was pretty good too.
But then, out came computers.
And the sports board games went on the shelf to collect dust.

I think the reviewer at PC Gamer, didn't check out OOTP first.

My nephew (10 years younger) was a huge Statis Pro player. I never played the board game, but I did have the Avalon Hill computer version. Loved it.

I also played the PC version of that too, but then, in 1999, some guy named Markus Heinsohn, made a new baseball game.
The rest is history!

I had completely given up playing baseball on the computer and then I heard people bragging about how great Baseball Mogul was. Purchased it and just couldn't get into it. If I remember right, one of my players turned into or was a dolphin. Found Season Ticket II at Office Depot for next to nothing. Next thing you know, I'm cheering on Hoyler Jones

Because people like managing their favorite MLB team?

True, you can do that here. I played a demo if you like simple basic than its for you but not enough depth. But I can understand some just want to play don't want to mess with settings and stuf

I can remember people leaving OOTP for Mogul back in the OOTP 2006/2007 days. Their arguments didn't make sense to me.

I wasn't here then (so forgive my potential ignorance), but isn't that when OOTP took a step back in order to take a quantum leap forward?

I remember them days. They obviously underestimated OOTP and I have often wondered if some returned to OOTP humbled
