National Baseball League 1900 and Beyond...
Every time I buy OOTP baseball I set up a fantasy league and just run it. I love playing historical matchups and setting up fantasy leagues and just see teams rise and fall and leagues grow into there own history. One Day I will actually manage a team, till then, there is the National Baseball League.
January 1, 1900 The National Baseball League (NBL) is formed consisting of sixteen (16) teams, 8 in the American league, and 8 in the National league. The American League consists of East - Also known as the Coastal League New York Titans Boston Clippers Baltimore Black Sox Philadelphia Biscuits West - Also known as the Railroad Division Salt Lake City Saints St. Louis Blues Dallas Bluebirds San Fran Gold (sox) The National League consists of East Atlanta Fire Charlotte Copperheads Brooklyn Loons Pittsburgh River Rats West - AKA great Lakes division Detroit Acorns Buffalo Bears Toronto Alouettes Milwaukee Hops |

Opening Day of the first season of the NBL. The media has picked the New York Titans and the San Fran Gold (Sox) as the expected winners in the American League.
The National League is expected to have a tough three way battle in the east between the Copperheads, Fire, and Loons, while Toronto and the Hops are so close no one wishes to pick who is the favored team. |

I can dig it - interested to see this one develop. Three 1st rounders out of the UW in the first two drafts, though? As a WSU alum - I do not like it. I get a ton of UW graduates in my drafts - or maybe it’s just a confirmation bias. I’ll be supporting the Loons - perfectly named Brooklyn club. Buncha goofballs in that borough you ask me.

Lets meet the teams of the National Baseball League
Atlanta Fire - ATL Word Series Champions - 1900 Playoffs 1900-1903 The Atlanta Fire is a successful team in the NBL, however recently they have struggled to find the playoffs (missing the last two years. Lead by Benton "Stone" Brown and Bill Chamberlain, they almost won the word series in 1902, losing in a close game seven. There is some worry that if they miss the playoffs again, there will be rumblings of discontent. |

Baltimore Black Sox
Word Series Champions - None Playoffs 1901, 1903 Lead by top AL pitcher Eric Blahut, the black Sox are a under-performing team in the NBL. (Resulting in a currently open GM slot). Not all is lost, the team has two hot prospects and there is hope that they can step up and challenge for playoff spots on a regular basis. |
