PeL Catcher Meta

I was wondering who you consider to be the Meta catchers.

This is the position that they did the best job on for the end of the year as far as meta competition and options go (for the better part of the year, it was one of the worst positions in this regard with Ivan and Roy being the clear-cut choices). I wish they'd do what they've done here for all positions consistently throughout the year.

For LHP-hitting catchers, we have:

Johnny Bench and Buster Posey

Posey is +27 points vs. LHP overall, but 50 of that is a gap power advantage, and he's down 90 points for Power and Eye, perhaps the two most important / reliable ratings.

Bench is +17 points vs. RHP overall, which is also important to consider since at least 1/4 of ABs will still be against RHP (relievers, spot starts, etc). Additionally, Bench is +7 in catcher fielding, which includes a -2 in catcher ability, but +20 in catcher arm.

Buster Posey:
+27 points vs LHP
-17 points vs RHP
-7 overall catcher fielding
+2 catcher ability
-20 catcher arm
Contact/BAPIP/Avoid K/Gap advantage

Johnny Bench:
-27 points vs LHP
+17 points vs RHP
+7 overall catcher fielding
-2 catcher ability
+20 catcher arm
Power/Eye advantage

Do you want the power/eye/arm or contact/BAPIP/catcher ability?

For RHP-hitting catchers, we have:

Bill Dickey and Joe Mauer

Dickey is +4 points vs. RHP overall with most of his advantage coming from power and gap, while Joe Mauer is +18 vs. LHP overall (again, that will be at least 1/4 of at bats, maybe 1/3 even). They are separated by only 1 point on overall catcher rating, with Mauer holding a small ability advantage, and Dickey holding the arm advantage. Here how it breaks down.

Bill Dickey:
+4 points vs RHP
-18 points vs LHP
+1 overall catcher fielding
-2 catcher ability
+7 catcher arm
Power/Gap advantage

Joe Mauer:
-4 points vs RHP
+18 points vs LHP
-1 overall catcher fielding
+2 catcher ability
-7 catcher arm
Contact/BAPIP advantage

Right now, I'm running Mauer/Bench.

I have Dickey in reserve, and about a million PP, so I could pick up Posey if I decide he's the top guy.

What do you guys think?

All 5 batting ratings are NOT created equal

And my weighting of those factors give Bench a big edge over Posey and Mauer a small edge over Dickey, fueled mainly by their respective ability to handle same-handed pitching. Rutschmann also deserves some consideration for his switch-hitting ability, although most of the top pitchers display only minor platoon splits.
