Best Way To Import and Export Players
My overarching goal is to create a database of players from all the different leagues I've played that I could then pull from in a future league. I have looked through the forums and tried many ways myself, but can't seem to find any sort of efficient way to do this. There doesn't seem to be any way to export individual players, just the entire league rosters. Also when it comes to importing specific fictional players it seems like you have to add the desired number of new players into your league, export the league roster, edit the newly created players to be the players you desire, then import that roster. This seems very haphazard and I'm hoping there is a way to do it more smoothly. And I believe the answer is no, but is there a way to have the game pull from a custom player database? Lastly, does anyone know if OOTP 24 is any better in this regard?

Unfortunately importing and exporting players isn't super smooth in OOTP. Your process of adding/editing players and then exporting the roster does seem like the best workaround.

It does seem that way. OOTP does a great job of allowing customization and I know they can't cover the wants and needs of everyone. Hopefully in the future.
