Exiting without saving?

Is there anyway to exit a game without saving it? I just lost the best prospect i had to the rule five draft because I didnt realize he was eligble. Im trying to exit out so it doesnt save it. Any ideas?

Start task manager and quit ootp....just make sure you DO NOT CLICK ootp's classic "do you want to quit" prompt...ignore it and make sure it's the task manager's prompt you're clicking.

That works for sure, but there are easier ways to solve your problem. You can just switch on Commissioner mode from Manager Options, "Act As" the team that picked your guy in the Rule 5, release the player (he will be returned to you) and you're good. If you force-crash, you lose all the stuff you've done since you last saved your game.

Injury log is right. A lot of bad things can happen if you force crash.

Force crashing is a very good way to corrupt your league file.

In cases like this, you're far better off using commissioner mode and the editor to fix things, or just reverting to an earlier backup.

And if you aren't manually backing up important leagues, start now.

Yeah, this is the time that I'd switch to commish mode and fix things. Usually I'll force them to trade him back to me for one of my mid-tier prospects, which I feel is compensation for my screwing up.

I believe the "PC" term (no pun intended) for it is "end task".

exactly. the one time where this happen to me, because i misread the message of you have at least 0 players that should be protected, i actually traded 3 other prospects to get him back... if that hadnt worked it would have been commish mode.

What I like to do, is make a copy of the whole savedgames folder (for your current game only, obviously). This is done in windows explorer. Then if you screw up the game, you can always just load up the backup file.
