One of my F2P+ teams just completed its last Elite mission
Now on to the cards to get the sweet toppers. Hopefully done by June.

I assume the toppers we already have (Betts, Contreras, Rodriguez, Strider, McClanahan, Ragan) will be part of the collection for obtaining the overall toppers. As long as you held on to those, you're probably in good shape.

Oof, I'm definitely getting brutalized
I'm 62-59 right now, so still a shot at making the playoffs. But digging deeper, I've had terrible luck so far. Since I picked up Acuna and Cole, I've been losing like crazy, but it's the close games that are killing me. 11-18 in one run games, and I decided to go through my schedule so far and calculate my two run games and I'm 5-12 in those. So that's 16-30 in 1 and 2 run games. Just brutal. And 46-29 in all other games. If I were 23-23 in those games, as would be the average here, I'd be 69-52. It hurts |

I had home field advantage throughout the playoffs and the home team won every game!! Well, except for game 1 of the finals, and that sealed my fate.

My top two teams have fallen into the Gold-Diamond shuttle, where they make the playoffs every season in Gold but get get sand kicked in their faces by Diamond teams. A little short of the prize, and a little disappointing for the San Diego Sharks, who were oh so close to making Perfect League this cycle.
On the bright side, I started a new team (FTP with PT+) 30 days ago, and it's gone really well. Currently 43-13 in Bronze after dominating the first three levels and winning the title each week. I'm laser-focused on Negro Leagues and PT Elite plus daily Iron tournaments, where I've won or finished second quite a few times and grabbed Diamond choice packs. Just completed the Negro League set, dropped Oscar Charleston into the two slot and center field, and also added Bill Foster to the rotation. Current team is insanely good for Week 5: Ca - NeL Josh Gibson / PT Elite Jonah Heim 1B - PT Elite Freddie Freeman 2B - PT Elite Mookie Betts 3B - HoF Scott Rolen (good at the purchase price) SS - PT Elite Bo Bichette (also have NeL Home Run Johnson on reserve) LF - PT Elite Evan Carter and NeL Roy Parnell CF - Charleston RF - PT Elite Corbin Carroll DH - PT Elites Juan Soto / Yandy Diaz PT Elites Matt McLain and Nolan Jones on the bench. Rotation: PT Elite Shane McClanahan Bill Foster PT Elite Framber Valdez PT Elite Tarik Skubal NeL John Donaldson (keeps it all lefties) Bullpen: NeL Hilton Smith and Satchel Paige as stoppers PT Elite Devin Williams at closer NeL Dan Bankhead and Bullet Joe Rogan PT Elite Luis Castillo and Zach Eflin I'll play this team out through end of cycle, which is getting really close now. Just need NL East to wrap the PT Elite toppers and then hope for some good card pulls to get the final two (Acuna and Cole). Last edited by LeeD; 01-24-2024 at 12:19 PM. |

Team is about .500 in Gold - long-time user, appreciate the mode for what it is. But....
I've put in a lot of time to this alliteration of out of the park, a longtime player of the franchise, and continuously having played since 2016, my first go-round being 2014.
I appreciate Perfect Team for what it is, it's a mechanism to make sure the developers garner funds for the next version of the game. I don't see anything wrong with this. I do wish prices for cards were a little bit more affordable. To make wanting to spend money a little bit of a draw. I don't mind spending a little bit but to each their own I guess. I appreciate the tremendous work that this team always puts into the Sim, although I wish Perfect Team would reward longtime users such as myself. My typical journey in Perfect Team would be competing well at all levels and then hitting the paywall teams in gold and advancing no further. I have put in about 1,460 hours. As we come up on a year since release.

It's a wrap with PT25 just around the corner.
My San Diego Sharks finally won their first championship of the cycle. It was in Gold, but I'll take it after nearly a year of September swoons and early playoff exits. We were one game away from Perfect League twice during the cycle and spent 37 weeks in Diamond, making the playoffs 22 times. Not at all bad for base-game price plus a few months of PT+. My late-season team, the Cooperstown Immortals, is actually better than the Sharks at this point. Eight weeks in and they've climbed into Diamond. Just finished the PT Elite series and added Acuna, along with pulling the new Hubbell and Schmidt cards plus BBRef Verlander. A few cards away from completing Immortals as well. Depending on how the new league shakes out, we could compete here, although we're missing the best of the BBRef cards. |
