In the top of the first, Allen tried to record an RBI via the sacrifice fly but Maddox threw Kelly out at home after he had tagged up at third. But Melton did pick up an RBI with a single.

In the top of the fourth with a runner on first and one out, Mike Paul took the mound for the Rangers. Johnstone ripped an RBI double.

In the bottom of the fourth, Billings put the Rangers on the board with an RBI single. With runners at the corners and nobody out, Biittner grounded into the 6-4-3 but Mincher came home with the tying run.

After six: Chicago 2 Texas 2.

In the top of the seventh, with a runner on first and one out, Jim Panther took the mound for the Rangers. A couple of walks later and bases were loaded with one out. Allen popped into the infield fly rule for the second out. Melton then flew to center to retire the side.

In the top of the eighth, Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the eighth, Terry Forster took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Rangers put the winning run on first but Lenny Randle grounded into the 6-4-3 to send the game into extra innings.

Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the tenth. Hermann picked up an RBI with a two out single.

Cy Acosta took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the tenth. The Rangers loaded the bases with two out. Billings tied it with an RBI single but Rick Reichardt threw Nelson out at home as he was trying to score the winning run from second.

In the top of the eleventh, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Allen drew a four pitch walk to bring home the go-ahead run. Melton added an RBI single. Andrews drew a full count walk to bring in another run. Hermann popped up for the second out. Tony Muser drew a full count walk to bring home another run. Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers. The White Sox ended up sending 10 men to the plate in the inning.

Vicente Romo took the mound for the White Sox in the bottom of the eleventh and got them in order.

The White Sox ended up with 10 hits in the game.

In the top of the eighth, Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers. Baylor tied the game with an RBI single. Powell then gave the Orioles the lead with an RBI double.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Rangers had the tying run on first with two out. Grant Jackson took the mound for the Orioles and got Kubiak to ground to second to end the game.
